Hi,

I have the Country Inns & Suites booked for $49 in Oct.

Has anyone stayed there recently that can give me a idea of how they liked the hotel?

Thanks bunches!

Anyone?

I really need to know if this hotel is in a safe area and it's a good place to stay.

:)

Sorry no answers, as I was hoping for the same. We toured this resort last month and will be there the end of next week. We actually had 2 other places booked and cancelled to stay at this hotel. From our tour we felt really confident in doing so. The attendants at the desk made us 3 room keys to check out some rooms. They were all well appointed and clean. The pool was small but adequate for the time we will be there. The lobby was beautiful and there is a large area for breakfast that is very appealing. We are really looking forward to our stay there next week and I will be happy to give you a review upon our return. As far as safe, I really like the area this hotel is located in. You can never be too safe anywhere anymore, but in using good judgement I feel this place is as safe as any, another reason we picked it.

If this is the one on Apopka Vineland, my husband and I stayed there July 3-5th with a $49 rate. We never expected such an inexpensive rate to result in such a nice hotel! We really enjoyed our stay there. The breakfast was nice and had good hours (6:30 to 10 I think) with plenty of tables and chairs. The lobby was beautiful. When we checked in we asked how old the hotel was and were shocked to hear that it was 4 years old. Other than the bathroom tub looking a little worn everything was in excellent condition. The pool is really small but we didn't even use it. We were impressed with how close we were to DD! It took us less than 10 minutes from the time we left our room until we parked at TL!! The room was a good size. Ours had a king size bed with a sofabed as well. Even though we were next to the elevators we didn't hear a thing. It was surprisingly quiet for the amount of people there. After staying at the moderates and CR the last several trips I was thrilled with this hotel for a last minute trip. We found this to be an exceptional value and will keep it in mind for a future trip!

Friends of ours are planning on staying there in Oct. also. We have never stayed here but have driven by it and it is in a very convenient location, lots of restaurants very close by. We have stayed at other Country Inns and always been very happy with them!

Just wondering, how did you get the $49.00 rate?

Cheryl

I booked Country Inn at Calypso Cay for August 23-30, 2003 for 49.00 using www.valuetrips.com which I got off of mousesavers.
Cheapest rate I could find. I even called to check out the Entertainment rate and the rep told me I'd no cheaper rate than the internet using a site like this.

We stayed they on a Timeshare tour in April for 7 nights and it was wonderful. The only problems I encountered was upon check in, I requested a suite but got a std room instead, I went back downstairs to complain (it was 2 am when we checked in so I was not happy:mad: ) The person at the desk told me that it was a reservation error and told me I 'd have to sleep there for the night and change the next morning. Or either pay an additional $20/night to upgrade right then and fix with timeshare people the next day. I decided to just sleep in the std room, I was ok but not thrilled about it considering I had two small ones, 5 and 7 months, I figured we'd make do. I go back to my room and no sooner than I got there there was a knock on my door, it was the trainee on duty that night who overheard the conversation and told me that she thought I was treated poorly and upgraded us to a jr suite for no additional charge!!! :bounce: After that we had a wonderful time, they breakfast was adequate, the pool was nice zero entry with a slide, mini-putt putt course & arcade. Everyone else was friendly, parking was well lit and it wasn't all that bad of a drive to the parks. There were only two rooms with 1 set of W/D in each so if you have to do laundry just be aware that you may have to wait. Bring your own detergent and plenty of quarters, I forget exactly how much to wash/dry but the dryers didn't get too hot. You won't be disappointed especially at the rate you got! We are going back in Oct and the cheapest I can find is $59.:(

Thanks for the info. I'm looking forward to going and know the Country Inns we've stayed at one the drive down were always beautiful.

Glad to hear about the washer/dryers. Last I heard they hadn't finished the laundry facility.

We loved it there! Will definately stay there again. In fact other than location, we liked it better than Disney properties for an overall room and amenities(other than pool-small) experience.

YES!!

We stayed at Country Inns at Calypso Cay! We loved it!! I think we paid abt $65 per night for a suite last Sept. The pool area is wonderful!! The breakfast is very good, quite filling. Plus, they have lots of healthy choices. We also loved the afternoon cookies.

Plus, we found it very easy to get to WDW, US, Seaworld, etc.

Tarabl, I checked www.valuetrips.com and the cheapest rate for the dates you are going is $79. Do you have a promotional code or something that you got a better rate. Looking at this hotel for my trip but at an affordable rate. Thanks for the help.

I just went through valuetrips. I booked this at the beginning of the year, maybe that is why I got the lower rate. I also called to compare rates for the entertainment book and was told that during the time frame we are going 8/23-8/30 the entertainment rate is not available.

Kimberle, thanks for the photos. Your little one is adorable.
Can I just verify with you about the laundry there. Is it located in Country Inn or do you know if you still have to go to Amerisuites as someone posted before on the boards?

TIA

When we were there last Sept, the laundry facilities were not working. They had some kind of a ventalation problem. They said we could use the room at Amerisuites (right out their back door, abt a 1 minute walk).

Just call the hotel yourself. I made the reservation over their site on the internet (they had a special internet only rate) and called them directly with some questions.

Just make sure you print out a copy of your reservation and take it with you. Initially, they gave us a room instead of a suite. When I showed them the printout, they graciously changed it & upgraded us to a pool view.

We really enjoyed our stay. The 2 rooms (& TV's) were so nice.

Thanks for your compliments on my pictures.

does not have a fancy pool like that. It has a small pool in the back of the hotel.
We stayed there last year for one night(got great rate), and i thought the place was nice, but we did not spend much time there(theme park during the day, check in, and check out early am for flight).
we only had a couple of minutes to grab breakfast, but it looked nice(more than just cereal and doughnuts)
there was a steak and shake that we walked to

has the nice pool in the pictures.

If you put 'country inn and suites' in a search, it will give you the website(I don't have it)
