We stayed here June 8-15th. Its two miles from Disneyland on Chapman Ave. We booked it through Getaway Travel (who I highly recommend).

The girl working the front desk when we checked in was efficient but less than friendly. All other staff we dealt with was wonderful though.

We had a room on the top floor (6th). Our room had two queen beds and was quite spacious. It had a TV with remote in a large piece of furniture with 3 drawers. There was also a large closet with doors for hanging up clothes. The bathroom had a single sink inside the bathroom, which made it difficult for more than one person to get ready at a time.

The room also had a couple of nightstands and a desk with two small drawers & a chair. There wasn't any table & chair set up for conveniently eating around so we found ourselves eating on the beds. The room also had a very nice size refrigerator with a small freezer at the top big enough to freeze our 4 water bottles each night. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, which to me is the most important thing of all.

The view was crappy - the freeway and a hospital. But we weren't in the room that often so we didn't really care.

On the 4th floor there are laundry facilities - 2 washers and 2 dryers. One of the dryers was out of order the entire time we were there though. They were 75 cents to wash & the same to dry.

Its located near the Block shopping area and the Crystal Cathedral. When we were there we never encountered any major (or minor) traffic tie ups going to or from Disneyland.

They have a free shuttle to Disneyland. Their vans hold a max of 9 people and need to be scheduled in advance at the front desk. If they have more people going at a certain time than will fit in one van they have two vans they can use - and they have car seats for little kids if necessary. We never had a problem calling the hotel to have the van pick us up earlier or later than we had planned if our schedule changed.

We never used the pool because it was too cool while we were there, but it looked nice. They had a hot tub too.

The best part about this hotel was the breakfast buffet! We were told its regularly $8.95 per person but free to Getaway Today guests. Each morning we left for the parks very full, which saved a lot of money! The buffet always had eggs, bacon or sausage, french toast, hash browns, assorted cereals, milk & orange juice, coffee, make your own waffles, bagels and coffee cake. Everything was so delicious!

In the early evenings from 5-7 (weekdays only) they had food in the lobby. We were only there once when this was served and that particular day they had pot stickers and assorted veggies & dip. They always had apples for free in the lobby too.

I know most people want accomodations within walking distance of Disneyland, but just wanted to give my review of this hotel. We'd definitely stay here again!

Thanks for the great review it sounds like it might be worth considering if only for the breakfast. did you also have a car. We will and I was wondering if you ever tried driving on your own.

Allison

Yes, we had a car. Some days we drove to the parks and some days we used the shuttle - just depending on what we felt like and whether we had planned ahead to schedule a time with the front desk.

Never a problem driving to or from the parks. It was a 2 mile drive, very quick and easy. The shuttle would sometimes hop on the freeway to get from DL to the hotel but we just took surface streets. It was very easy, south on Harbor, turn left on Chapman and it was just down a little bit on the left.

What kind of coupons were in the coupon book from Getaway travel any that were worth using?

I think we might go with this deal also as it seems really good and we are staying 4 nights so we can get one free.

Allison

Hi Allison, sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I couldn't find the coupon book from Getaway at first.

Here are some of the coupons in the book:

1) Free Unicorn pop w/$15 purchase at Candy Palace on Main St.

2) 10% off purchase at "Its a Small World" toy shop

3) 10% off dinner at Storytellers Cafe

4) 10% off dinner at Hooks Pointe & Wine Cellar

5) 10% off dinner at Yamabuki in Paradise Pier

There were two other coupons that I don't have any more. One was for a gift shop in DCA for a free Unicorn pop w/purchase (I think) and I believe the other one was for a discount on purchases at World of Disney in DTD.

There are a lot of other coupons for Universal, Sea World, Millies Restaurant, Mom's Restaurant, McDonalds & Subway, etc.

Hope this helps some!

Wow those sound like great coupons I was thinking it was your typical $2.00 off a pizza or something coupon book. This package is sounding better and better all the time.

Wondering if anyone has had a more recent experience here, and also where does the shuttle pick you up and drop you off? I have only seen big buses in the regular area and this sounds like a van. Do they still go into that area?

We stayed there Tues & Wed nights this week.
Breakfast one day was scarmbled eggs, sausage, cereal, fruit & breads. The other day there was also pancakes.
The shuttle drops & picks up inside the bus drop off area. It doesn't run in the afternoon.
Afternoon snacks, besides wine was crackers & cheese as well as a pretzel mix & a couple jugs of pop. The next days was chips & salsa & preztel mix.
We had a great stay, kids liked the pool & hot tub.
There is a computer in the lobby for guests to use.
I found the front desk very friendly & helpful.

We were on the 3rd floor and had a great view of the pool.
The boys (12 yr olds) thought the motel was a little fancy :rotfl2:
We would absolutely stay again.

OP thanks for that review. I read a lot of good stuff about this hotel. They were ranked #1 in Anaheim hotels at Tripadvisor.com so I was curious about it. There were a lot of glowing reviews about it at Tripadvisor too. If I had a PAP and didn't have to pay extra for parking I'd stay here to try it out. The free shuttle sounds really good too. I wonder if people have to wait a long time for it if they don't bok it in advance to pick them up at a certain time? Did you stay well past park closing? I often do and I wondered about whether or not catching a shuttle that late (like say 1:30am when parks close at 12am) would be a problem...

The shuttle driver told us this week that the park closed at midnight and the last shuttle was at 12:30. If you miss it the cab fare is around $12.

Is this the hotel that is now known as Ayres Inn Orange? On Chapman? I can't find anything about "Country Inn" :)
Thanks :)

Now I am confused LOL
I looked on the ayres website and only saw the chapman hotel that's like 2 miles away, with a free shuttle, free hot breakfast and goes for 80$ a night in the summer. :) I like all that. I have parking so if the shuttle didn't work out I am ok with driving. Just looking for other options for quick summer getaways :wizard:

Sorry, I'm confused too! Here's a map to the one that is #1 on Tripadvisor.
