Country Inn and Suites code

I want to use the Carlson friend's and family code for an upcoming stay, and I thought that it is a public code that lots of people use. In fact, I heard of it on here and have used it 3 times I think.

But now they have the disclaimer when booking that you must have the name and location of the friend that gave you the code. Has anyone actually been asked?

Or...do I have any disboard friends that actually have a job for this hotel chain?
