Did anyone else notice that Alison Kraus's dress was see-thru?

Yes! She will probably be horrified! I love her, though.

Did anyone catch Julie Roberts' (I think that is her name) performance? She just seemed so, I don't know...forced and uncomfortable. The song wasn't so great either, I couldn't wait for it to be over. It was making ME uncomfortable...

Ok Stinkerbelle, I had to add that Big and Rich photo to my sig. Thanks again for posting it.

I saw an interview with Julie Roberts on CMT before the awards show started. I thought she seemed uncomfortable just doing an interview. I missed her performance on the CMA's though.

Not a prob! as you see, I snagged it from cmt.com though..so you might wanna save it to your own location!

Julie Roberts annoys me...she opened for Rascal Flatts in CT...after every song "Thank you! you're so awesome!" in this squeaky voice. We saw RF 3 days later in Mass...and were talkign to people behind us who were at the same show in CT and found her just as annoying. She doesn't "do" much on stage either...like Carrie Underwood...just stands and sings. Not saying ya gotta shake it to make it...but, you know, enjoy yourself up there!

Kudos to Dierks Bently for putting on CLOTHES! The local radio station here jokes that he LIVES in his jeans and flannel shirts...he looked just fine in his black pants and tight black top last night. (I thought he sounded good too...)

Ya wanna hear a good live performer? Blake Shelton. Blew me away when I heard him live...the man has an amazing voice.

i don't care what he sounded like, my would-be boyfriend keith urban looked ever so dreamy  plus his acceptance speeches were great!

i'm bummed that big and rich and sugarland didn't win anything :( i love them too.

Don't you think it's awesome that the artists are always live on the country music award shows? I'm very forgiving if they're a little off....it's not like when they're doing a concert with all their own people and equipment and they have the time to get the sound perfect.

I thought Keith Urban's voice sounded off when he accepted his award too, so maybe something was wrong?

Elton and Dolly together...yuck, LOL!

I thought the lead singer of Sugarland really helped Bon Jovi out with that song....the beginning of it sure sounded flat and boring before she came out.

I guess I'm the only one, but I love Faith Hill's hair. When I saw the video for Miss. Girl, I didn't even recognize her, but I think it makes her look more natural and younger.

Loved the song Gretchen Wilson sang the most. I had never heard it before and she sounded so real!

I was wondering if Carrie Underwood would get a chance to sing. I missed it, how did she do?

I fell asleep before Bon Jovi came on. Did they sing Who Says You Can't Go Home w/Sugarland?

I can't believe I fell asleep :sad2:

I totally agree. He is awesome in concert.

The one person I didn't really care for the performance was Miranda Lambert (is that her name) I just didn't really 'get' it, didn't like the song or the performance.

I missed my favorite Martina McBride. I would have loved to see her get Female Vocalist of the Year but knew she probably wouldn't since she had been out most the year with her family and recording her new album. I would have preferred to see Sara Evans of Gretchen Wilson, but she's ok too.

I also didn't really care for Faith's hair for some reason.

Did notice the see through dress of Alison Krauss.

Liked Carrie Underwoods performance. Wondered if she's gotten used to the fact that she's up on stage with the big stars now. I would like to see her nominated next year for the Horizon Award.

Was satisfied with the Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year award. I'm a fan of Alan Jackson but didn't think he'd win over the new talent out there this year.

That's about it for me!

Thanks so much for the info. I know what I'll be doing Sunday night

I noticed Allison's dress also. At first I was thinking maybe she didn't know it was so see through being backlit. Then the more I looked at it, I wondered if it was supposed to be that way. There was beading or some sort of decoration on it down to the top of her thighs. It covered all the "important parts."
I was appaled at how they cut to a commercial right in the middle of Alabama. I can understand cutting short other acceptance speeches, but these guys just got into the Hall of Fame. I'm hoping someone just messed up on that one.
I liked how they had the big name duos singing together. I was hoping that Billy Joel and Shania would of done one.

i agree blake shelton is amazing in concert! i think he opened for rascal flatts when i saw him...was great!!

I hope there is nothing wrong with keith urbans voice!!!! im seeing him tomorrow night--

My dh was quite amused by Alison Krause's dress. Thank God she has nice legs.

Keith Urban has bruising on his vocal cords. He really needs to rest them

I'm not a big fan of Rascal Flatts, but I really enjoyed last nights performance.

The song that Brooks and Dunn did was just amazing! It brought me to tears.

oh that's right - i DID hear that about Keith!

Ya wanna know what song gave me some tears? Brad Paisley's. I can't remember the words...but all I know is I was sitting there, with my mouth hanging open, and some tears in my eyes.

Tim and Faith were awesome last night. I'm liking her look with the darker hair.

The show was good and I really enjoyed Sugarland, would love to see them in concert sometime.

The Brad Paisley song is "When I Get Where I'm Going". It makes me cry every time I hear it. I think of my grandma who walked with a cane the last few years of her life, the match me step for step really breaks me.

The song sounds better with the music on the CD I think. And Dolly Parton is great on the harmony too.

When I Get Where I'm Going (feat. Dolly Parton)
Rivers Rutherford/George Teren (ASCAP)/(BMI)

When I get where I'm going
On the far side of the sky
The first thing that I'm gonna do
Is spread my wings and fly

I'm gonna land beside a lion
And run my fingers through his mane
Or I might find out what it's like
To ride a drop of rain

Chorus
Yeah when I get where I'm going
There'll be only happy tears
I will shed the sins and struggles
I have carried all these years
And I'll leave my heart wide open
I will love and have no fear
Yeah when I get where I'm going
Don't cry for me down here

I'm gonna walk with my grand daddy
And he'll match me step for step
And I'll tell him how I missed him
Every minute since he left
Then I'll hug his neck

Repeat chorus

So much pain and so much darkness
In this world we stumble through
All these questions I can't answer
So much work to do

But when I get where I'm going
And I see my maker's face
I'll stand forever in the light
Of his amazing grace
Yeah when I get where I'm going
There'll be only happy tears
Hallelujah
I will love and have no fear
When I get where I'm going
Yeah when I get where I'm going

I didn't get to watch, can anyone tell me if Phil Vassar was there?
I think they replay the awards on CMT or GAC.
