So my husband just told me that if Disney ever gets rid of Country Bears at MK he is never visiting again *gasp*.

Obviously now I have to live my life in constant fear of this ever happening :rotfl:.

This made me think of a few questions:
1) Do you love Country Bears?

2) What ride would you be the most sad about Disney getting rid of?

1) Country Bears is just okay for me
2) There are several rides I would be sad about, but probably #1 would be PeopleMover.

1. The Christmas version yes. The regular version not so much. Just thinking of "blood on the saddle" makes me cringe.
Growing up we went in November and I didn't know a time without it being the Christmas version.
I went in August/September 2006 and saw the regular version and I was very disappointed.
I wish they would not have gotten rid of the Christmas version because at least I'd be able to see it sometimes.

2. Illuminations... which is leaving.
Also Carousel of Progress which in 2003 was on the chopping block but luckily they reopened it.
I do CoP AT LEAST 3 times per trip.

Love Country Bears and stop in several times each trip, same with Tiki Birds and Swiss Family Robinson. I can't think of a specific ride/attraction that would make me stop coming if they removed it, but losing any of the classics would make me sad.

Because of Young Sheldon, yesterday we heard the rest of the song!

I like Country Bears.

I would be very sad if Figment was no longer around.

  1. Country Bears are ok... would like an update..
  2. Would be devastated to lose the People Mover or Carousel! I would not be able to spend a full day at MK without them! Much needed to rest during busy or crazy hot times!

1. Yes
2. They have already gotten rid of many rides that I miss. If I had to pick just one, Horizons would be top of the list.

1.) I like it - liked it better as a kid but still enjoy it.

2.) Peoplemover, Pirate of the Caribbean or the Monorail ( sorry, that's still my favorite part of Disneyworld. )

1. I like the Country Bears a lot, but it is not a must-do. Still, I would be upset if they replaced it.

2. To me, small world is WDW. If they got rid of that or POTC, I would not return. Others that would have me reconsidering a yearly trip would be HDDR, Splash Mountain and CoP. Especially if they replaced them with Star Wars or Marvel.

I really have never liked the bears.:scared: (Sorry everyone!)

But I would be crushed if they ever took away the People Mover or the Haunted Mansion. My DH loves Small World & The Enchanted Tiki Room (Even with the new management. ;) )

That being said, we don't do Disney, or the MK in particular, based on any particular ride or rides, so there is no one or two rides they could remove that would have us opting not to return. Unless they made so many changes that it no longer felt like the MK at all to us, but that would mean getting rid of dozens of things and within a short time frame.

Miss it a lot
Love the Country Bears
DL is my “home” Park
So I never miss it while at
magic Kingdom

Our first WDW visit was 2017 after visits to DLR. I love Tiki Room and was also expecting to enjoy Country Bears (nostalgia for old style Disney etc) but I didn’t get it at all. I couldn’t understand half of what was being said/sung, nor did I get many of the references. I am from NZ so wonder if it may be a cultural thing - US pop culture isn’t uncommon here but Country Bears aren’t really in thematic category.

LOVED Carousel!

I do not like country bears. At all. I hadn't been since I was a teenager but took the kids for the first time last trip. Checked that box, moving on.

They already got rid of my favorite all time ride in MK - 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

I experienced the Country Bears for the first time in 2012 - my then fiancé now DH talked it up really big. “You’re going to love it!” Needless to say when I experienced the Bears for the first time, my reaction was more like “Huh? What on earth did I just see?!” ‍♀️♀️♀️Lol

I’ve grown somewhat fond of it over repeat visits, but I could skip it and wouldn’t be heartbroken if they ever removed it. It’s a nice cool-off/napping area that’s for sure! (Sorry to all the CB lovers out there!!) I’m sad to see Spaceship Earth getting changed, and if they ever removed CoP, now them’s fightin’ worlds!

DW and I had been to WDW several times in the past, but about 9 or so years ago we went and decided on that trip to do some of the attractions we just had never done before. Well, on that side of the park along with Tiki Room we also did Country Bears. Tiki Room was OK but DW fell in deep deep love with Country Bears. I think she'd rather be at Country Bears than be doing almost anything else other than POTC or Splash. We now HAVE to visit Country Bears more than once each visit, and she laughs as hard at the same parts now that she did then when she first saw it.

1) I always got a kick out of Country Bears as a kid, but I can't imagine watching it nowadays.

2) I hope the Carousel of Progress stays forever! And maybe bring back the song, "Now is the Time"? With my old faves Horizons gone, and Journey Into Imagination changed for the worse, CoP need to stay alive and kicking.
