As many of you may know, in the 1980s there was Showbiz Pizza Place. They had an animatronic band called the Rock-afire Explosion. The band is very advanced, and was almost as good as disney. If it helps you out, it was kind of the early version of Chuck E. Cheese. The inventor of the animatronic characters that played at this restaurant chain's name was Aaron Fechter. Getting to what this thread is about, before Aaron created the Rock-afire, he created a Rip-off Country Bear Jamboree called the Hard Luck Bears. These characters were sent to about 4-5 different places, one being Knoebels Groves. I personally love the characters in the Hard Luck Bears. I don't really consider it to be a Rip-off, and the reason Is because the characters themselves are VERY different from the CBJ and have different voices and personalities. The entire show is built differently. The audio for the show is completely different. The backstory is different. Tell me what you guys think of this. I love them.

I remember showbiz! Wasn't the Bears name Billy Bob? I remember the transition over to chuck e cheeses. During birthday parties you could either ask for billy Bob or chuck e to come out and celebrate with you. There was for sure a die hard billy Bob following but all the young kids wanted chuck e cheese. I hated to see it go. It is in no way as cool as showbiz.

As far as ripping off Disney who knows. I mean they are animatronic hillbilly bears maybe they did a little.

Didn't the company that owns Chuck e Cheese buy out Showbiz? I remember way back when. We had a Chuck e Cheese on one end of town and a Showbiz on the other end of town. Chuck e Cheese is now where Showbiz was Waaaayy back when. I much preferred Showbiz. They had a much better video game selection!!

I also remember the bears at Knoebels Groves. I thought they were called country bears though? May just be Disney on my mind.

Actually Showbiz Bought Chuck E. Cheese. Do you happen to have any pictures or film of Knoebel's grove show? If you did that would be highly appreciated, there isn't much that exists of them.
