Best reason to cancel, EVER! And besides, it's not cancelled, it's just postponed due to a change in party size and the ability of said new party to travel!

Excited to see you had the boot off today!
Oh I like the way you think!!!

I'm just sleeping with it off but it's AWESOME. I feel free. :rotfl:

Hi LL,

I've been updated on FB, but wanted to congratulate you again! SO excited for you and Marc and baby to be!!!!!!! Such an exciting time for you both! I hope you're feeling okay!:goodvibes

Sorry that you're cancelling Disney, was hoping to finally meet you there, at least that week! But I completely get it and understand about your decision!! Wishing you an easy and healthy pregnancy and delivery! I can't wait for April to hear the big announcement!!!:yay:
Thank you!! I can't wait for April either, though I'm hoping I go in March...the first week of April there are A LOT of birthdays, I want baby to have it's own day. :lmao:

Dude! I made the announcement in Facebook! I thought you would see it!!! I'm sad the trip is on hold but it's worth it!

My next PTR will have to be financially aware as well. It will have to be!! Not sure about a baby thread, I really don't want to close this PTR. Sigh.

Thank you!!

Thanks!!

I'm having a very hard time of letting going of this PTR. I don't know why...I don't want to end it and have the moderators move to CLOSED. Sniff Sniff.

Soooo...I thought I could give you a little update about life.

Our Disney trip is officialy canceled. :sad1: I know it's for a VERY good reason but I'm not going to lie, it is breaking a teeny tiny piece of my heart. Sigh. Sometimes it really stinks being financially responsible. I have been trying to console myself with looking at strollers, who knew there are so many options!

I filed a claim with the place where I fell insurance company and they denied my claim of liability and loss of wages last week. They agreed to pay some of my medical costs but isn't an issue since I have insurance. Ugh. So, I had to meet with a lawyer last week. It went well but nothing can really happen and we can't settle with the company until all of my treatment is done with my foot. It's just a frustrating situation. I want my loss of wages. I missed 8 full days of work and then worked 2 1/2 weeks of only 4 hours a day, not to mention that all that time off has eaten up a lot my FMLA leave which will affect my maternity leave. Today is my first day back to 8 hour work days and tomorrow is a follow up appointment with my foot doctor. I'm really hoping that this boot can come off soon! Thursday will be 5 weeks. Have I mentioned I hate my boot?? :rolleyes1

Pregnancy wise, things are going well. My mom is driving me a little insane about eating healthy and not gaining weight. She says she just doesn't want to see me ruin all of my progress and neither do I, trust me but she is going about it in the wrong way. Right now I'm focusing on what I can eat, which mainly consists of saltines, bananas and steak. :rotfl:

I'm not sure if I should just turn this into a PTR for baby's first trip whenever that will be or just close it down. What do you all think?? I can't seem to make decisions anymore. :rotfl2:

I am sorry to see your PTR end, too! I guess being financially responsible, and all that, you wouldn't be able to sneak in an early trip pre baby. :rolleyes1

I'm such an enabler. I know. But I only say that because I traveled to New Zealand when I was between 17 and 20 weeks pregnant with Brian. I am sure there are people out there that think I am crazy, but I knew Denny was going with or without me. It was one of those true "once in a life time moments" when our sailing friends happened to be docked there for 6 months.

Point is - I went, even though it was scary, and it ended up being the best trip of my life. Once I couldn't travel freely I looked back and appreciated the trip SO much. It was really special.

So maybe you should just keep this PTR going for when you reschedule your trip. I look forward to all your future trips and being able to see them through the eyes of your baby.

On not being able to make decisions...I never can, but I would blame EVERYTHING on the baby when I was pregnant. I would get super forgetful, and just really dingy, which I normally am not. I'd say the baby was sucking up all my brain power. ;)

I hate to see your PTR go away too. could you do a PBR? Pre-baby report? Maybe put it on the Community Board? We could all hang out with you there and follow along with your pregnancy! I'd come for sure!!!

Sorry that your mom is being that way - I have a mom who thinks she doing the right, nice things, but it comes off as invasive and pushy. It took me years to figure out that she's really passive-aggressive and now I can tolerate her much more. Plus she doesn't have a lot of friends, so she seems to pester me a lot. Drives me nuts, but what can I do? Okay, sorry, it's not about me and my mother...

I hope you'll find a way to keep writing! I want to keep up with you!!!

Oh trust me, I really wish I could financially swing this trip still, even if we shortened it a bit. If I hadn't fractured my foot and been out of work I think we would still be going which just frustrates me even more. Darn foot. I keep holding out hope that something will happen so that we can afford a trip. I'm really hoping that Jan. 2013 will work out for us. It will be a belated 30th Birthday trip for me and baby's first trip. We shall see.

I honestly feel like a complete airhead lately. I usually have such a good memory and am right on top of things...not anymore. I was so mad yesterday because I went shopping at Target with a birthday giftcard and forgot to use it at check out! :rotfl: I've told Marc all my brain power is going to the baby so it should be really smart! :rotfl2:

My mom comes from a place of caring and love but she is just driving me NUTS. I have enough on my plate with my foot, my pregnancy and trying to figure out my band with it, not to mention all the financial stress we are dealing with since I missed so much work last month. I just need a mini-break...like 3 nights at Disney to make it all better. :rolleyes1

My vote is for a baby report on the community board! :thumbsup2

I'm sorry to hear the insurance mess with your foot is causing such a headache! But I'm glad to hear the pregnancy is going well, aside from your mom bugging you. :headache:

I vote for a "PBR" too! :) I'm glad to hear you're back to work and that everything pregnancy-wise is going well!

I say change the date to some imaginary date in the future (you will go back eventually, right?) and keep the thread open. What's that? You want me to pick a date for you? Okay, April 2013. Sound good? We went for Brady's first birthday and it was so fun.

And listen there are no stroller choices. There is only the BOB. Don't go on three Disney trips so you can pay for the darn thing but listen to me: BOB. We rented one this last trip and oh my. I have owned 7 strollers ranging from Graco to McClarren and BOB blows them out of the water. If I had had a BOB from the start I would not have needed 7 strollers and it would have cost less. (but not much).
P.S. BOB.

I don't want to see this PTR closed, either, LL. :(

Sorry about all the run-around with your foot. I am sure the company will settle as soon as they see a lawyer is around. :headache:

I have a new book for you -- The Lantern by Deborah Lawrenson. Very creepy/spooky so far -- I am about half-way through with it.

Another vote for keeping the PTR going, it could also be a pregnancy related thread.

I agree with everyone trying to tell you what will happen, and don't let it bother you. My father in-law was the worse I just let him talk, but didn't really listen.

As for strollers, I had a Graco that I bought as a travel system with the car seat, but really hated it. It is big and heavy and a pain. I kept reading on the Disney for Families board and everyone kept suggesting the City Mini. Well I watched one video of it on youtube and was sold. They don't have it here in Canada, so I ordered it online with the car seat adaptor and I love it. It's light weight, easy to maneuver and the quick fold is great and will be great on our Disney trips to get the stroller on the bus.

I totally vote to keep it as a PTR for the baby's first trip!!! I don't want to see the report come to a close either!

Baby Report!!!! Totally can not go without an LL report of some sort! What would we all do?!;)

I hope everything works out with the insurance company, I just hate that they make things so difficult!

But yes, Baby report/30th birthday all the way! Plus, you know there's many of us with upcoming trips, we can shower you with Disney pictures and presents in the meantime! :thumbsup2

I say..

1. Keep it open

2. Just nod and say uh huh to your mom but don't really "listen" too much. She means well, just try to be a duck (float above it and let it roll off of you).

3, As to strollers...it was 11 years ago when I bought my last one but I have to say, I had 2. A single, and a double. Both Peg Perego's and they were worth their weight in gold, as was my Britax car seats. Couldn't have been happier with them

I will keep my fingers crossed for a settlement, sometimes just the act of fighting it will cause that to happen, no one wants to drag things out. It would seem to me if they are offering to pay anything (the medical) that implies assumed guilt/responsibility (otherwise they'd refuse anything at all) and as such they should cover lost wages at a minimum. Still, it's hard to wait it out I am sure.

I told my mom if she didn't back off then I was going to not tell her what the baby was when we found out...she has been easier to handle lately. :rotfl:

I like that idea...I really want to keep this thread open, I worked really hard to come up with this PTR title.

I have heard of Bob but hadn't heard a lot of reviews, we have been looking at one of the Mamas and Papas stroller and also the Chicco Cortina. I like the Chicco but I just think it's too bulky. I don't know. I wish you could rent strollers from somewhere locally to test them all out.

I don't want to see this PTR closed, either, LL. :(

I don't think I'm going to close it. It will be the PTR that never ends...it's goes on and on my friends...;)

I think I've heard of the City Mini but I looked it up online, do you like having the one wheel in front? Assuming that is the one you are talking about.

I totally vote to keep it as a PTR for the baby's first trip!!! I don't want to see the report come to a close either!
I don't think I'm going to close it unless they force me too.

whatever you decide I'll be here to read along :goodvibes and I love the baby ticker
Thanks! I love my baby ticker too, it makes me happy.

I think I'm going to keep this PTR open...I have no idea what I will talk about but I figure I can keep up with some countdown stuff and maybe some dream baby's 1st trip things we want to do.

I vote to keep this open. You need a baby pre-trip!

Hope everything works out for you!
Thanks!

I'm at the point where my lawyer wants me to get a second opinion with another doctor, she's not happy with what mine is doing for me so now I'm off to deal with that.

Thanks for the advice, I especially like the duck advice, that is very good!
