Counting down WITH the kids

My ds5 has known since we decided to go, and made his own countdown chart - basically a 10 week calendar, with the dates written in - plus, in the corner, the number of days left until the trip. I drew the chart, he filled in all the numbers. He usually remembers to cross the previous day off when he gets in from school - so we do a happy dance every afternoon !!! (11 days today !!).

We took a posterboard and colored Cinderella's castle on it, some fireworks, a big Mickey Head and Disney stickers.
In the middle there are slots to put home depot mickey heads and they all have numbers on them, we started at 99 days We're now down to 7. Every day they get to change the Mickey heads, they had a blast doing it and never missed a day!!!
Right under the mickey heads it says....More days until Disney World.

We will see how this plays out. Not sure I can keep my mouth shut.

I tried sooooo hard to keep my mouth shut! For almost 3 months I was KOTS!!!

THEN A BORING RAINY SUNDAY ROLLED IN...............

and I folded! I told them this past Sunday, and they were REALLY excited! We talked about it, watched the planning video and talked about what rides we would go on. Now I just have to figure out what kind of countdown I want to do with them .
