Counterfeit designer bags at my mall!!!

Oh boy, I careless about a darn bag, fake or real, I rather have other things or do other things than a bag but that's just me.
However almost everything we buy is made in china, el salvador, haiti, guatemala, thailand, etc. All Disney stuff is made in darn China. :rolleyes1

Okay, first of all WV is a STATE not a town.

Second of all, where did I imply that Brooklyn isn't in NY?

No kidding, forgive me, it's a burg.

You were the person pointing out where I was from. Brooklyn is one of the boroughs of NY. Milan may have just dislocated NY as the fashion capital but it still is America's fashion capital.

I'm sorry I must have confused "fashion capital of the WORLD" with "fashion capital of AMERICA". (As per your OP.) My mind reading is a little off today.

Oh and I know I know Brooklyn is a borough in NY. I'm still not sure where you are getting that I don't know where Brooklyn is located. :confused3

Oh well, I'm off to sew on some patches.

Have a good day!

No, around here they leave the actual price sticker/tag on. The one that says the store name and "$24.99" or whatever. I had seen it several times and then finally realized what it meant when I was sitting next to a group of boys at the mall. On of them had just lifted a hat and they were talking about it... (I did alert security on that one, but I don't think anything came of it.)

OT: That may be why THAT boy had the price tag on his hat but that is not the reason why most leave it on indefinitely. The emblem is left on to show that its legit and they leave on the tags and do not bend the brim to keep it new. It would be rather stupid to run around with hats with tags on them if they were all stolen. I have seen many with the tags on and finally asked campus police why the boys did this; they had looked into because they too thought they were all stolen and a cop that is in the gang division of local police said that the hats are status symbols (along with the shoes they own that match the hats in color) and they want people to know how much they paid.

Personally I think its sad that the money spent on a hat is so important and shows how sad our society has gotten about "LOOK WHAT I HAVE" Whether its a car, a designer dress or suit, a hat or a purse--any belonging being a status symbol is just sad.:sad2:

Those patches better not be on a counterfeit bag!

I grew up in the Fashion capital of the world, and was so sick of the importance that was put into what someone wears. I actually was THRILLED to come to Georgia, a place where I always say "the fashion police has no precincts!!"

I remember going back to NY one day and being told how my lipstick was not OUT and the length of my skirt was so "yesterday".... I RAN back to Georgia, a place I'm not thrilled with but I can afford and no one makes such a big deal about what's IN and OUT.

It's a personal thing for me. I always said that I'd never be able to identify a person on a line up, but I COULD tell you his attitude, not what he looked like. Growing up in a totally VISUAL household made me resent it.

Robin, I'm just curious where all these people are that don't care about fashion and status symbols in GA. I'm certainly not saying it's a good thing, but in my area everyone seems to "have" to have a Lexus and even the middle school girls all carry Coach and Dooney bags. Status symbols are alive and well in my neck of the woods. I myself am Lexus-less, but I do confess to owning the new Disney theme parks Dooney purse. I used my Christmas bonus at work to get it--slap Mickey on something, and I'm game, LOL!

Oh yes, they care but it's not a YOU MUST DO AS I DO thing here. Believe me I've worked in Buckhead for over 20 years, yes, lots of people here are status-y, but they are for themselves. They don't demand it for everyone else like they did in NY when I was growing up.

Believe me, I'm all for everyone being themselves, I have status crazy people in my office working for me but they don't care that I'm not!:thumbsup2

Exactly. But I wouldn't carry a fake. I just don't see the point in spending $100+ (and yes, you're going to have to spend at least $100 if you want a decent fake) on a fake bag. A bag with LVs everywhere. And then moan about how wrong Louis Vuitton is for pricing his bags at $1000+. And yet you're carrying a bag with his logo on it. :rotfl: It's just weird to me. Just buy a $30 Target bag or an $800 Prada. Either way it's just a bag.
