Leaving for the World in 8 days. It has been four years since our last visit. Way too long to be away from home! Have our table service reservations all made. Please share some of the best counter service places and tell me what is good there at all four parks. Thanks! Can't wait to "go home"!

Animal Kingdom - Flame Tree BBQ

Hollywood Studios - Starring Rolls Cafe, or Backlot Express

Magic Kingdom - Columbia Harbor House near Liberty Square... take your meal upstairs as there's usually more room and it's a little quieter. Also try Cosmic Rays... a big selection, a fixin's bar, and entertainment!

Epcot - we love the Tangerine Cafe in Morocco

Enjoy and have fun! :yay:

A nice option for lunch is a burger at Beaches & Cream. It's right next to the big Stormalong Bay pool at the Beach Club resort. It's not a far walk through Epcot's back exit in World Showcase. Nice to get out of the parks, but be warned, they have few seats and you can end up with a bit of a wait.

MK Cosmic Rays has something for everyone
DS Not much good here!!! DO NOT EAT AT COMMISSARY!
AK Flame Tree BBQ
EP Seasons, Tangerine Cafe

POR make your own pasta, boat ride from DTD is nice
DTD Wolfgang Puck Express
Coronado Pepper Market

MK- Sleepy Hollow (Nutella Waffle Sandwich.. YUM!) or Cosmic Ray's
DHS- Fairfax Faire, Starring Rolls. I second the PP by saying STAY AWAY from the Commissary!!!
AK- Flame Tree BBQ
Epcot FW- Sunshine Seasons
Epcot WS- Fish and Chips stand in England (next to Rose and Crown), Grand Marnier slushie kiosk in France
DTD- Earl of Sandwich
Resorts- Beaches and Cream, Boardwalk Bakery

Our top picks are:
MK: Pecos Bills, Columbia Harbor House or Casey's Corner
Epcot: Sunshine Seasons or Tangerine Cafe
DHS: nothing it's all crap with ABC Commissary being the craptastic winner
AK: Flame Tree BBQ

MK Cosmic Rays has something for everyone
DS Not much good here!!! DO NOT EAT AT COMMISSARY!
AK Flame Tree BBQ
EP Seasons, Tangerine Cafe

POR make your own pasta, boat ride from DTD is niceDTD Wolfgang Puck Express
Coronado Pepper Market

POR is the best CS place on property b/c of the create your own pasta IMO. If we aren't staying ther we take the trip over there at least once or twice (even using Disney trasnportation). It's a great value too DH and I split it alot and we have pretty hefty appetites.

I bring a little snack pack into DHS, because there is nothing appealing about their counter service (particularly if you are trying to eat healthy). Sometimes I splurge and make this our nice dining day and make a reservation for the Brown Derby. My favorite counter service (again--we're looking to healthy alternatives rather than a Donald Dog or Mickey Burger :sail:), would be Sunshine Seasons at EPCOT. I like some of the other suggestions made by other posters as well, but, why repeat, right :confused3 Have a great trip and happy eating!

At DTD, it's Wolfgang Puck Express to be sure.
MK is either Pecos Bills or Cosmic Rays.
Epcot American Pavilion isn't bad, but the Land place is better.
HS counter service food is horrible!! The only place we found slightly edible was that place next to Star Tours, but that may have been because everything else was packed and we were starving.
For resorts, POR has an excellent food court, well worth the boat ride from DTD.

MK: Cosmic Ray's for the variety or CHH for the seafood selections
Epcot: Sunshine seasons for the variety, Kringla Bakery in Norway for their fabulous sandwiches and pastry selections.
AK: Flame Tree (naturally)
DHS: Starring Rolls. Very small seating area, but THE BEST sandwiches and cupcakes!
DTD: Earl of Sandwich
Resorts: frankly I would never travel to a resort just for CS food. I'll have a meal at my own resort's CS if I'm feeling too lazy to travel somewhere else, but that's about it.

MK: We are fond of Pecos Bills. CHH is also fantastic.
EC: Sunshine seasons in FW. They have a great selection of (mostly) healthy foods. Tangerine Cafe in WS is great, as well as the fish n' chips stand.
DHS: Backlot Express
AK: Flame Tree BBQ

DTD: Earl of Sandwich

And I agree with PPs. POR has a really great food court.

Magic Kingdom: Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe.

Epcot: Sunshine Seasons & Electric Umbrella.

Hollywood Studios: ABC Commissary & Backlot Express.

Anmial Kingdom: Flame Tree BBQ & Pizzafari.

Downtown Disney Marketplace: Earl of Sandwich.

Contemporary: Contempo Cafe.

Boardwalk Inn/Boardwalk Villas: Boardwalk To Go.

MK - Pinocchio Village Haus, Casey's Corner, Columbia Harbour House
HS- Backlot Express
AK-Yak and Yeti Local Food Cafes
EPCOT- Yorkshire County Fish Shop in the UK pavilion and Sommerfest in Germany for pretzels for desert is good

Post here where our dining experts can help you.:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

MK: Cosmic Rays or Columbia Harbor House. The PP was right - at CHH it will look completely packed, but seek out the stairway and eat upstairs where it will be much quieter.

DHS: I disagree with PPs about ABC Commissary. I am diabetic and the manager and staff worked endlessly with me to make the meal fit into my eating plan. They went over nutritional information with me, changed the bread the entree was served on - everything we got was hot and fresh and it was an off-time for meals, too. Maybe we just got lucky! :confused3

Our favorites include:

MK Columbia Harbour House, closely followed by Cosmic Rays and Pecos Bill
AK Flame Tree Barbeque
DHS Nothing great, but Backlot Express will surfice.
Epcot. We love to eat CS in the international WS. I would NEVER waste a CS credit on the Electric Umbrella.
Our favorites include:
La Cantina in Mexico, Sommerfest in Germany, Tangerine Cafe in Morrocco, French Bakery in France, Yorkshire County Fish & Chips in the UK. We always enjoyed the now closed Yakatori House in Japan and look forward to trying the new Katsura Grill this fall.

MK we love the hot dogs at Casey or the wraps at Cosmic Rays
EP the CS place in MExico is great
HS the grilled sandwich at Backlot
AK yak and yeti or the pizzafari

MK - Columbia Harbor House
EP - Sunshine seasons, by far
HS - why has no one picked pizza planet? My kids love this, and the veggie pizza is quite good, imho. Salads too.
AK - we've liked Yak and Yeti, but my husband got very sick after eating there. not sure if it was a bug or something else, but that has changed our perspective a bit.

Our favorite counter service by far is Earl of Sandwich at DTD. You have to try this place if you haven't - took us years to realize what we were missing $5.99 for amazing sandwiches and salads that you can have made into wraps, soups, fruit cups, yogurt, etc. Very delicious food for not a ton of money.

Hate to be repetitive but my choices:

MK: CHH for tuna and chowder or Cosmic Rays for chicken and Ribs, lots of food great value for DP CS credit. Also have burgers, sandwiches, salads and fixings bar.

EC: Tangerine Cafe is favorite, also like La Cantina, Sommerfest and Yorkshire County Fish.

AK: Tusker House was best CS on property, hence it is TS buffet now. Flame Tree can be hit or miss, had one great meal, one not so great. In all fairness the not so great was during TH remodel and Yak & Yeti opening was delayed, so choices were limited and line was over an hour long. Can't wait to try Yak & Yeti.

HS: nothing great, usually do TS lunch at 50's due to this. Fairfax Fare is decent but gets mobbed by guests on Hollywood Blvd waiting for riders on TOT and RNR. Backlot express is ok, but better burgers available elsewhere.

DTD: been years but Earl of Sandwich was great.
