I need help finding good counter service restaurants.....at each park...we are staying at pop and i guess we will try their counter service one morning for breakfast...we need places with large portions

thanks any advice would be appreciated

I suggest you view the menus at AllEarsNet.com or The Dis and decide based on the types of food offered (burgers and fries get old real fast). Most places serve portions that are ample/large in my mind, but your idea of large may be different than mine (though I consider myself to be a good/hearty eater).

At Hollywood studios 4 people can eat for 2 cs credits at Pizza Planet. You get a salad, a pizza, bag of chips and pop and it's all big enough to share. Our first trip ever we went and got 4 pizza lunches and left with tons of stuff in our napsap...crazy. Get 2 meals and if you need something else use a snack credit.
Also, at Magic Kingdom go to Columbia Harbour House...they also have large portions! They have fish/chips too which is unique to MK.
My kids love Electric Umbrella but it's normal burgers and fries lunch.
At epcot, you can get a good size lunch at the mexican takeout cs place....my son and I shared there and it's really good.
Another tidbit is at the fountainview bakery in Epcot right near the entrance to world showcase, beside the cool station coke place they have milkshakes for a snack credit and they are to die for!!

Ah..... can't wait to be back!
Just about forgot....Our favourite place for CS is Earl of Sandwich but it's not really sharing sized. The best sandwiches ever!!

Epcot-Morrocco-Tangerine Cafe-Schwarma Platter can easily feed two (Beef, Chicken or Lam, Cous-Cous, Bread & Hummus) It a favorite.

Epcot-Sunshine Seasons-Really fresh, love the Beet Salad & the sandwiches are really good.

MK-Columbia House-Lighthouse Sandwich, sounds odd but it's really good, The Tuna sandwich(large) is fabulous, also great vegetarian chili.

MK-Cosmic Rays-I love their Turkey Wrap

DHS-I don't like any of their counter service!

These are my personal favorites!

I wholeheartedly agree w/ the suggestions of the Cantina in Mexico, Tangerine Cafe in Morocco, Columbia Harbor House in MK (The lighthouse sandwich is a DH fav, but I prefer the hummus and broccoli slaw sandwich), and Sunshine Seasons in Epcot.

I'd also add if you like fish and chips, the stand in the UK is very good. I also love, love, love Flame Tree Bar-b-que at AK and Yak and Yeti CS at AK.

I agree that the CS offerings at DHS aren't as creative, we usually go for the chicken fingers at the Backlot Cafe.

Most QS places have pretty large portions at WDW. That isn't something I'd be particularly worried about. Second, keep in mind that QS menus tend to change perhaps more often that some of the TS places.

MK- doesn't really have that much to offer in any kind of dining. I prefer Starlight Ray's. It is quick, cute, and you can top off your burger with lots of veggie toppings. We often split a bacon double burger. For dessert (on DDP)consider a yogurt, otherwise deeserts are a weak spot and yogurt is healthy and filling. Pecos Bills is similar, but eh atmosphere isn't s cute. Unless you happen to snag a spot right ebfore the parade , and then be prepared to be literally stompted on my parade viewers trying to literally climb on your table and chairs. If youa re willing to travel slightly outside the park - the QS at GF is really nice. It's quiet and you get a castle view if you eat outside. one more place that often has a so-so menu but a cute view is the Pinoochio Haus. It is really only cute if you can snag one of the prized window seats. Across teh way, is a stand that now sells Parm subs. They are pretty good , but that's about all they sell there and there's no tables right there.(They used to sell McDonald's fries.)

Epcot - Lots of great food choices in the WS. The Land also has great food. I love the tuna salad: seared sushi grade tuna on a salad. The tuna portion isn't huge, but what a Quick service meal! hey also have great soups sometimes. The sandwiches are jus okay. The wok stuff is pretty good. I thik the electric umbrella is kind of icky. Lots of great dessert options, esp. Norway and France! If you are thre during Food & Wine festival I'm sure there will be TONS of great options! Many F&W offerings counted as DDP 'snacks' last year!

HS: My favorite here is Pizza PLanet. Not the BEST pizza ever, but it has imporoved. The decor is cute. The other place that often has good food is the place way at teh back. I think it's called the Studio CAtering. It is red and is right next to the backlot Tour and the HIStK PLayground. The menu changes pretty often, but it's always been very good. The choices are limited, but it's rarely crowded. Portions are usually pretty good. The open air food area near ToT has always been very mdeiocre. You could also hop to Epcot to eat (15min boat ride). ther are also some choices betweenthe two parks, but mostly TS places. Some ofthe places on the BWK don't take or don't require reservations. Like ESPN.

AK; the best options these days, IMO, are the new Yak and Yeti QS, or Pizzafari. Othres love the BBQ, but we've never really enjoyed it. If you do opt for the BBQ place DO NOT feed the ducks!!!! They can be very aggressive! Yak and Yeti has a salad that is topped with chick and oranges. We also had somethig that came in like a Chinese take-out container. It was also pretty good. I think it was noodles; maybe lo mein.

Don't despair, Pop has one of the best food courts on property! It is quick! My one tip is to avoid the AM rush. Everyone arrives about 8:25-8:35. If you arrive by 8:15 you'll see no lines. At 8:35, it's PACKED!

We like toeat on vacation so.........

MK= Cosmic Rays burger and fixin and or rib/chicken combo
Peco Bills everything is good sized and yummy! Love the wrap
Columbia harbor house going to try for the first time this trip!

DHS so agree about Pizzaplanet 4 of 2 being kids and we only use 2 CS there my DH and I eat the salad and some of the kids pizza and If I am hungry later we will stop at Backlot to use the other CS of save them.

AK always Pizzafari I love the Hot Italian Sandwich once again kids order Pizza

Epcot my DS being a chicken fingers kind of kid usally America for him last year we ate at Mexico. THis trip Sunshine Seasons for me. Really want the veggie sandwich and the strawberry shortcake.

MK- Cosmic Ray's- It's got plenty to choose from and plenty of seating
Pecos Bill's is also a good choice
EPCOT- Sunshine Seasons- This place has the best food and dessert options
AK- Flame Tree BBQ- My favorite CS in WDW- Great food and seating
DHS- The CS rest. here stink! Backlot Express is pretty good- Studio Catering Co. was ok- ABC Comm. was awful

Epcot: if you like Mexican, the combo platter is HUGE at the counter service stand ( forget the name)
I second Tangeriene Cafe combo platters as well. we can't wait ot go back there

MK: Cosmic Rays chicken /ribs combo, also the pulled pork sandwich is pretty large as well

DHS: hmmm, not sure on this one, we usually eat at the Commissary

AK: Yak and Yeti

also a turkey leg at any park is filling!

POP has lo mein that is a large portion. Also, POR has the create your own pasta and chef dinners that are large. Cosmic Ray's and Pecos Bill's, MK, have fixin' bars that can add volumes to your meal. Wolfgang Puck Express, DTD, has pizzas that are dinner plate in size. Sunshine Season's at EPCOT has a diversified menu with large portions.

POP has a lot of big portion meals.

MK- Colombua Harbor House is my favorite for their hummus sandwiches! They're pretty big and if you're on the DDP they come with a drink and a bag of chips or dessert.

Epcot- My favorite is Tangierine Cafe in Morocco for their huge platters. There's a lot of different food in there and it's all so good.

AK- Yak and Yeti CS. Good portions, served in Chinese take-out containers. Really good food, but of course not as good as the local Chinese restaurant.

DHS- Not much here. We're fine going to Pizza Planet and getting some pizza.

DTD- Hands down Wolfgang Puck Express. It's like a TS meal! Portions are great and the food is amazing.

Magic Kingdom: Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe.

Epcot: Electric Umbrella.

Hollywood Studios: ABC Commissary.

Animal Kingdom: Flame Tree Barbecue & Pizzafari.

Repeat votes for Columbia Harbour House in the MK and Sunshine Seasons in Epcot. Also like Backlot Express in DHS and WPE in DD.
