When ordering at a counter service restaurant, is it possible to just order the entree without the side? If so, how much money are you saving?

Are you asking whether you can take the burger but not the fries, to quote an example? I don't see why not - but all their meals are priced as such; it's not like BK where you can order a meal package or items separately. I've certainly never seen any prices for deconstructed menus.

If you don't think you'll be able to eat all the food, two of you are allowed to share one, or you could order a child's meal. I very much doubt they'll knock off a couple of dollars if you say 'no fries, thanks'.

I remember reading in the Unofficial Guide to WDW that you can indeed do this, it just isn't advertised. You just have to request "sandwich only" and they can ring it up as such. Again that was in my guidebook, I can't speak from experience.

Yes, you can get a burger basket without the fries. Saves you like $2? Not sure how much but yes, it can be done.

Totally agree. At a counter service place, simply tell the cashier what you want and it should be wrung up accordingly. I've done this a few times before the fruit selections became available since I'm not a fan of Disney fries. Quick and easy. The price savings isn't that much but you don't waste food.

I do it all the time because I just don't eat that much. I rarely ever finish the sandwich so I certainly don't need a side to go with it. It's about a $2 difference in price. I have only ever had one CM give me a hard time about it, at Cosmic Ray's. I don't know why she took issue with it, but she did. She said something like "I can do that but it isn't going to save you much money!" in a smarty-pants tone of voice. I politely replied that I wasn't doing it to save money but rather to avoid throwing it all away. Personally, I think a $2 savings for nasty fries that I would indeed have thrown away isn't bad lol. It's better than paying the extra $2 at any rate. :rolleyes1
