Looking for a good counter service (on DDP) lunch spot at Boardwalk/Beachclub area OR Fort Wiilderness/Wilderness Lodge area. Suggestions anyone?

The Boardwalk and the Yacht Club are not really known for their counter service locations. However at the Wilderness Lodge there is Roaring Forks, the Polynesian has Captin Cook's and the Grand Floridian has Gasparilla's Grill & Games.

The Contemporary use to have the Food & Fun Center, however it closed back in early September and their new location which is to be called Chef Mickey's Express is not set to open until August 14, 2008. So in the mean time they have a temporary cs location. They do have a secondary cs location outside by the pool called the Sand Bar, but their menu is more limited then what the Food & Fun Center had. They got your basic items, but not a huge menu, plus the only seating is outside.

I know this a bit random, but that is how my mind works.....

I think...hmmm....

If you were going to Fort Wilderness or the Lodge- why not jump on the ferry and go to DTD and go to Wolfgang Puck Express!

Since you will be in the area, if you have park hopper tickets, you may want to consider strolling into world showcase. There are a number of counter service options there. A couple of my favorites are fish and chips at Harry Ramsden's in the UK, the Tangerine Cafe in Morocco.

ITA about Tangerine Cafe- DH were just there last week and split the veggie platter (ask for pita instead of the roll that comes with it thought, not sure what the roll is all about:rolleyes: )- and you gotta add some baklava! The one shaped like fingers" are DELISH! YUM!

 There is no boat from WL/Ft. Wilderness to DTD. Those are completely different bodies of water. YOu would have to take a bus to DTD from WL.

oops sorry! :upsidedow We took the boat from our resort- POFQ to DTD--

I would still recommend Wolfgangs....:lmao: :rotfl2:

Thanks for your suggestions. Not hopping so WS is not an option...it would otherwise be my preference. We will be at Boardwalk in the morning and at Ft. Wilderness in the afternoon, so was hoping to find a place at one or the other location. Roaring Forks may be it...or, since we'll have a car, maybe we'll side-trip to DTD in between and try Wolfgang Puck's express!

I guess everyone's idea of "special" is different-to me, one of the nicest things is getting a CS meal at Boardwalk Bakery (caesar salad or sandwich, and definitely the banana split cake for dessert) and sitting outside. Can't beat the atmosphere! I also enjoy the offerings at BC Marketplace (although I think the gelato has lost a step recently).

On our last trip to the world we got pizza from the Spoodls take out window and ate on the boardwalk over looking the water one evening. We also got a chicken meal to go at Trail's End at Fort Wilderness. There were picnic tables at the end of the porch. :flower3:
