hi all i'm new to the board and really like it. my question is i have the
disney dining plan and would like your opinions on where to eat counter service meals. we'll be 2 adults 1 boy 14, 1 girl 12. looking for good food and some disney magic. thanks
We returned recently and here are my picks...actually we enjoyed everywhere we ate except the backlot at MGM.
At MK - I agee that Cosmic Ray's is great. To maximize CS credits, I strongly suggest sharing a burger with your DD. They are HUGE! We shared two burgers among the four of us (my kids are just 9 and 6) and were plenty full.
Second place at MK for lunch was Columbia Harbor House. We sampled among the fish and chicken strips basket and a soup/sandwich combo (clam chowder and ham sandwich). All was tasty.
Third place goes to Pinocchio's. The food was fine -- not anything special. But sitting upstairs affords a view of the boats on It's a Small World.
The Market Street Bakery serves a very tasty breakfast -- and a great value too. You could easily split CS meals here because you can get 1 ham/cheese croissant AND any of the patries, plus a drink for 1 CS credit. We used 3 among the 4 of us the first day and had Waaaaaaaaay too much food. We went back the next day and used 2 credits and it was plenty.
EPCOT - We had the Sunshine Seasons for breakfast - it was OK -- I think we could have made some better choices here, but it didn't hold a candle to the Market Street Bakery in the MK.
We sampled a bratworst in Germany... nobody was VERY hungry, but DH wanted a brat so he got it with beer (which tasted remarkably like Bud Light). Everybody tasted it and liked it. DH wasn't bowled over because it had too much bun.
MGM - Backlot Express...ate there for diner...wouldn't recommend.
Tusker House in AK - Yummy for breakfast AND for lunch. Breakfast choices are similar to those at Main Street Bakery and just as tasty. Lunch - everybody LOVED the chicken.
