What are the CS options in Fort Wilderness and how are they? We're planning to go over for the campfire one night and thought it would be fun to try a CS in FW. I read in another thread that the Meadows Snack Bar (smothered hot dog sounds good!) is only open from 11am-5pm...is that right? If so, it would close before we get there for the campfire. Any other suggestions? Thanks

There really are no true Counter Service locations at Fort Wilderness. The Meadows Trading Post serves some sandwiches and has grocery items, the Chuck Wagon shack by the campfire has hot dogs and Trail's End offers some "To Go" options.

When we go to the campfire we like to get the Giddy-Up-and-Go fried chicken dinner from Trail's End and eat it outside at a picnic table. It's about $25 for 8 pieces of chicken, biscuits and cole slaw and is plenty to feed our family of 4. They also serve individual chicken meals, nachos and salads.

Thank you! DD has celiac so is gluten free, so it sounds like counter service at FW is not really a good idea for her. We'll grab something at the Contemporary before we go.

This is a hot topic now and then over on the Camping boards. Those of us that frequent FW are typically quite disappointed in the lack of a true CS option there. We typically hop the boat or ride our bikes over to WL for some good CS at Roaring Forks. :thumbsup2
