Visiting over Christmas week and will be hitting the parks at 7 AM. We are planning on using CS meals for breakfast. Has anyone every done this?
I know that at MK we can eat at Main street bakery , does anyone know what you get?
We almost never eat breakfast in the park, how is it? We are DVC member so we usually eat in the room.

At the MS Bakery, you get two items and a drink for your CS credit. We didn't use our CS credits for breakfast because you get less for the credit - you weren't allowed a dessert. Most mornings we had a granola or breakfast bar in the room and stopped for an early lunch.

I agree, ReneeA. We do the same thing. We don't use our CS for breakfast. I like to eat at the room. Granola and breakfast bars are what we eat as well (imagine that). The CS places open around 10:30 or 11am and we like to eat right at that time. By then you are ready for a break and the crowds are less. Of course there is always popcorn. popcorn::

Ditto - DVC, never used DDP, usually eat breakfast in the room. We just got back from a studio stay and our first use of DDP. First of all - LOVED not having to buy groceries or cook in the room. We tried a lot of restaurants where we had never eaten before, as well as old favorites. The DDP is really a great plan. In general, though, breakfast is a little iffy, mainly because it is hard to find places that offer it in the parks (outside of the parks is easier). My two favorites in the parks were the Main Street Bakery (French Toast Loaf was great) and Starring Roles at MGM. We tried the breakfast platter at Sunshine Seasons at Epcot and felt sick for a few hours - lots of food, just didn't taste very good (think Denny's buffet and then riding Soarin or Mission Space :guilty: ). If you can get some donuts or english muffins as a snack credit and keep them in the room, I suggest that on some mornings, to avoid wasting precious morning ride time on eating breakfast in the parks. But, that said, I thought the two bakeries above were excellent - I would suggest either of these for either breakfast or an early lunch. People on the boards do talk about doing lunch as a CS because you get a dessert...our experience though, was that most of the packaged desserts at CS like Pecos Bill or Cosmic Rays are not worth eating anyway. I gave them to my kids and they even threw them away :). If the dessert part of the CS is important to you and you decide to use your CS for lunch, definitely research the menus and pick a CS that has good dessert options. Otherwise, just stick with using the CS for breakfast. As many have said, there is SO much food, that we didn't miss those desserts anyway by the end of the trip. Hope this helped! Have a great trip!

Thanks everyone.

One of the reasons for using CS for b-fast was so we would not eat dessert with lunch. We are trying to be a little bit healthier with our choices,( as much as you can be at WDW, when they are making popcorn at 10 AM) so we felt that making a healthy lunch and tasking it with us might make sense.
It is a little tough to eat at 6 AM, but the breakfast/granola bar sounds like a good idea

I understand trying to eat healthier at Disney. It is a challenge. When we did the DDP we always chose desserts that could be eaten later in the day. We would get a cookie or rice krispy treat and throw them in the bag and eat them as a snack later. However, one CM let us have fruit as a dessert. We just asked and she said sure!

It was important for us to get the most for our money when it came to the DDP. You are definitely not getting the most for your money eating a CS for breakfast.

a37027 made a good point about using your snack credits and putting it in your room for later. We did this alot. We would get fruit and other things that you could eat on the run.

ABC Commissary at Disney Studios has a great little breakfast platter. Three pancakes, two strips of bacon and two sausage patties. Add a beverage and you have a nice CS breakfast. We did this last week one morning and it was excellent.

At the Main Street Bakery you could use a snack credit for a pastry if you like.

Most places have a fruit cup and I think the Bakery does. It could count as a snack or part of a CS.

There was also a quiche or egg sandwich at the Bakery.

I'm with you about using the plan to fit your needs rather than maximizing it. :thumbsup2

Tusker House in AK had a breakfast platter as well. Scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon or sausage and a biscuit, and a drink.

Not sure how this applies, but on our trip this month, we used or TS for chef mickeys before we headed into the MK. Worked out well and just a quick walk to the MK
