Any suggestions for Counter Service out of the parks?

We are staying at Coronado Springs so we will have Pepper Market.

I have heard Wolfgang Puck Express in DTD Marketplace.

Any other suggestions that would be worth the trip? Otherwise, we will settle in and do Pepper Market before calling it an early night with kiddos.

Thanks!

If you like Fish and Chips I recommend Cookes of Dublin. It's a small place, but the food is good. It's next to Raglan Road on Pleasure Island.

We're also fans of Pepper Market, though.

Actually, I like a lot of the resort CS locations. They tend to have more choices and more unique food items than the CS locations in the park. Going to a resort CS for lunch gets you out of the crush in the parks, and makes a nice mid-day break if the kids are too old to go back to the room for a nap. And at dinnertime they have even more expanded selections.

Contempo Cafe at CR and Capt Cook at the Poly are no-brainers on MK days. Contempo gives you the cool factor of ordering from touchscreen kiosks, then watching your food be prepared fresh - even the salads are tossed to order - and eating with the monorail going by overhead. Capt Cooks gives you the chance to have a Dole Whip (soft serve, not the float) as a dessert option for your CS credit. And you can always take it down to the beach at night to watch the Electric Light Pageant and/or Wishes.

POR had a neat build-your-own pasta bar at dinner. Mara at AK gives you an excuse to explore AKL without paying for a big TS dinner. My personal goal next trip is to get DH to visit the CS at Pop Century: I want to try that tie-dyed cheesecake!

You have some great suggestions and advice! Now I want a Dole Whip on the Poly beach!

Capt. Cook's at the Poly is one of my favorite CS. Lots of good choices (a good selection of vegetarian ones, too - a plus for me!) and the bonus of Dole Whip. Sushi in the refrigerated section from Kona Island Sushi. Decent selection of baked goods. I also love the setting. A nice CS meal and then a walk on the beach before the water parade and Wishes is just so much fun and very relaxing. (They also have the fun touch screen menus, too.)

Roaring Fork at the Wilderness Lodge is nice and I'll generally take any excuse to walk around the WL. The lodge is beautiful. The selection of food is good. I liked the grilled veggie sandwich and their flatbread is good, too.

The Mara at the Animal Kingdom Lodge is another one we really like. Good flatbreads and soups. They used to have a really good veggie burger, I'm not sure if it is still there but I think of it still after all this time. Love the fact that they sell Zebra Domes! Walking around the lodge and checking out the animals is a lot of fun.

The Riverside Mill at the POR is also another good resort CS. I don't know that I would go out of the way to visit, but I do enjoy the boat ride from the resort to DTD.

My favorite Quick Service locations outside the parks is as follows.

Downtown Disney Marketplace: Earl of Sandwich.

Contemporary: Contempo Cafe.

Boardwalk Inn/Villas: Boardwalk Bakery, Boardwalk Pizza Window & Boardwalk To Go.

We generally prefer TS, but of the resort CS locations, Captain Cook's and the Kona sushi bar are definitely two of my favorites. So I'll add another vote for Captain Cook's / Kona sushi!

PORS-Build your own pasta and Magic Cookie bars

POFQ-Muffaletta Sandwiches, Shrimp Po'Boys, Creole burger (Hamburger with fried shrimp on top) and bignets. At night they also have good specials (pork chops, fried chicken,, chicken & ribs combo, pot roast, etc).

Cap'n Cooks at Poly-adult grilled cheese (not a fan of grilled cheese normally, but love theirs:rotfl:), flatbreads, and Dole Whips. Plus Tonga toast for breakfast.

Mara at AKL-soups, flatbreads, fried shrimp, and zebra domes in the refrigerator case

Pepper Market-wonderful chicken nachos, steak burritos, Mexican steak (just OK), blue cheese burger, and sometimes they have a really good pork loin with mango sauce. Any of their pastries (oreo cake, strawberry cake, fruit tarts, flan, strawberry or blueberry cheesecakes, etc).

Boardwalk Bakery-beef/blue cheese sandwich, tomato/mozzarella sandwich and really huge pieces of homemade carrot cake

Contempo Cafe at Cont-steakhouse salad

Artist Palette at SSR-chicken/aritchoke or cheeseburger flatbreads

Pop-Mom's Specials-(only at night)

Pepper market is great - the beverage service made it feel like more than a regular CS and the food was tasty. DD and I had quesadilla and fajitas while DH and DS went with Pasta options. After a nice walk around the lake, we had gelato. Great way to end a busy day!

We are not doing TS this trip (last minute trip and no good ADRs available) so our plans include Capt. Cooks (maybe twice thanks to the Dole Whip!), beaches and cream, espn (probably a DH solo meal), either POFQ or CBR to check out the resort as much as the food, and either Wolfgang Puck or Earl of sandwich in DTD.
