Polish those menorahs!
Get olive oil & candles!
Flip those latkes!

And of course, shop shop shop for gifts! (We have a tighter schedule than our Christmas-shopping neighbors.)

14 days, my fellow DISraelites! Get to it!

Thanks got everyone taken care of, spoke with the family about the family get together.. the only thing left is candles for the menorah..

The school my boys attend did a fundraiser earlier this year where they sold natural beeswax Chanukah candles. Can't wait to smell those babies burning!

I won't do latkes unless it's warm enough to open the windows. I can't stand the greasy smell that lingers for days in the house. Oooh! I just remembered we got new smoke detectors last week. Maybe I will do latkes after all... :confused3 :thumbsup2

Beeswax candles are awesome, but personally I'm an olive oil guy.

The smell is supposed to last for 8 days, right?

Nothing like the greasy latke to make my day! Of course, you could always just pick up the "secondary" traditional Chanukah treat: jelly doughnuts!

Yeah, I know I have a Christmas special character in my signature. It was for comedic purposes. ;)

I only have to buy for my niece and nephew, and I only have to ask my SIL what they want this year. Not too difficult.

I'm not a fan of do-it-myself latkes. They come out too greasy and gross. I'd rather let Trader Joe's do the work. I thought they had some good ones.

My neighbors do olive oil. I wouldn't feel comfortable with burning liquids in my house. I'd end up spending eight days hugging my fire extinguisher and telling my kids to be motionless! :thumbsup2 I would be too worried to eat doughnuts (and we can't have that can we?)

I usually buy pre-made latke batter from Jack's Deli and cook them at home. My food processer is too small to make more than one latke at a time.
