Countdown to August 2011 (tr link posted)

Bay Lake Tower will be a great place to stay this summer! Can't beat walking to the Magic Kingdom!!! :goodvibes

Hmmm, I am going to guess Beach Club for the rest of your stay!

Hope you had a wonderful Easter!

What a lovely picture of Hannah and Emma :thumbsup2

:woohoo: on the countdown officially beginning!!

I love the look of BLT - you will have a great time and how cool to be within walking distance of MK!

I'm going to guess that for the next part of your trip you will be at The Beach Club so you can be as close to Epcot and DHS ;)

thanks for the heads up on the soap, I got mine today!

I guess Beach Club too.

Great picture of the girls:cutie:

I'm going to guess.......AKL????

Thanks!:goodvibes

Nope, and I am a bit worried that I will miss Jambo!!

Yay for the update!!!

Since you put Vero Beach in there, you're driving, and you're going in Aug, I'm going with:

VERO BEACH!!!!!!!

If that's the case you'll get a full report from me in June before you go in Aug!!!

Sorry - not Vero Beach. The girls and I go to Ocean City, MD for a week each summer with my family. DH and I like to spend as much time in Disney World as we can.

Very excited about BLT and its location. When we toured it, dh and I both agreed that location was the only really desirable quality for us to even consider points there, but since we can't ever book in advance of about 4 months...

Not Beach Club...

I don't think you can go wrong with any of those choices. :)

Totally agree - except Vero isn't at WDW! :thumbsup2

I'm also going to guess Vero Beach!

Amanda

Nope. :rolleyes1

No one guessed correctly...should I be worried about my choice? :rotfl2:

We will be staying at Boardwalk for three nights (or four if my waitlist comes through!)

We will visit the freaky chair:

So, with another 20 minutes of gymnastics (daughters, not me), let's talk about some meals. I made some ADR's but like so many of you, I like to play with ADR's!

  • Tony's Town Square dinner
  • 1900 Park Fare brunch
  • Kona dinner
  • Le Chef's de France dinner
  • Sci Fi lunch
  • Via Napoli dinner

So, I want the good, bad, and ugly of your experiences at the above...we have eaten at many of them, but I still want to hear what you all think (please and thank you.)

So, first, Tony's Town Square. What would you rate it on a scale of 1 to 4 Mickey heads? (4 is the best; 3 is good; 2 is meh; 1 is yuck)

Boardwalk will be great!!!! I hear only good things and it's a GREAT location! I almost wish we were doing a split stay between BLT and BC or Boardwalk....
I've never eaten at Tony's so I can't rate it. We usually have lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern. I know the dinner gets horrible reviews but we've always enjoyed lunch there (except that I absolutely HATE the bathroom at LTT!!!). We usually just get sandwiches or salads and they seem fresh and tasty.

The BLT studio looks so nice! The location will be great for you guys as well! To walk to MK=:cloud9:

I came too late to guess the next resort, but I was going to guess the BCV anyways.

I LOVE the BW, it's so nice! And a lot of fun for kids! :thumbsup2 I know it's Sarah's (my lil' sis) dream resort!

What IS that dessert from BW Bakery?!?! It looks SO good! :)

Your ADR's look GREAT! I would give Tony's 3 Mickey heads, but do you really want two Italian meals for the trip? IMO, I would ditch Tony's and go for Ohana at the Poly, since you'll be right on the monorail at the beginning of your trip. I know you already have Kona, but those are two TOTALLY different experiences. Or, you could check out Liberty Tree Tavern in MK. Delicious and my fave non-character meal in MK. :wizard:

Boardwalk will be great!!! That is my next dream resort to stay at -- Boardwalk Bakery always has such great choices.

As far as your places, I have only ever eaten at 1900 Park Fare and Sci Fi. Both were fun, filling, and pretty tasty. :thumbsup2

Boardwalk sounds like fun!!

I'm afraid I can't help with the restaurant ratings but am looking forward to reading the opinion of others :)

Hi Amanda! We enjoyed BWV in the summer, but it was for the last two days of our trip. We've never eaten at LTT, but my friend's family enjoys dinner there. Dh wasn't keen on the menu when I was planning the summer trip. I'll have to revisit it.

Peanut Butter Cake - YUM!!!

I forgot that I had two Italian even though dh said it when I orginally started making ADRs. Thanks!!! I am planning Kona instead of Ohana (we've enjoyed Ohana, but it is tons of food and my daughters don't love it.) We ate a Kona for breakfast before but not dinner. You're the second for a vote on LTT.

You are jumping ahead...:rotfl: Is there a reason you haven't eaten at Tony's yet?

Tony's is good. Not out of this world good, but still good.

Thanks! :goodvibes

No problem- you can supply your metacognition...(sorry, teacher in me couldn't resist...:rotfl2:) But seriously, you can discuss if any of the restaurants were on your options list and how/why you decided to make an ADR there or not. I can use a refresher on your choices anyway! :yay:

Boardwalk sounds great too!!!!

Nice ADRS!!

We ate at Tonys a few years ago but it was in the heat of the summer, the heavy meal did not sit well with any of us, and we didn't care for the service too much. We haven't been back since but assuming we don't go for lunch when it's 98 degrees, we might have had a better experience!

All the other choices are great IMO. I haven't been to Via Napoli but I've been to the others and enjoyed my meals at all of them!

So, one of my ways to spend time counting down was to help my friend plan a visit to Disney in May. I try to be a good friend. If you need me to babysit, I am happy to help. If your car breaks down, and you need me to get your kids from childcare, no problem. (I'll wait with you for the tow and pick up coffees for us and icees for our kids...true story). If you need to vent, I listen. I remember birthdays (most of the time), etc. However, if you have never been to Disney and want help, (read: want me to plan out every aspect...) I am a GREAT friend. :lmao:

We started in Jan. at Barnes and Noble with my laptop and a coffee. The trip was to be revealed to her daughter in March. I know I overwhelmed my dear friend.

At the 180 day mark, I gave her some restaurants to look up on all ears, and set her to making ADR's. Okay, then, I had to go back and have her fix some times to match park hours. (Rookie planning helper mistake!!)

Then, I checked her petite daughter's height to make sure she'd be able to hit the big rides...it was revealed to her daughter. I made the plans accordingly. No worries about characters, specific shows, etc...

Here's the good part! I buy a small photo album at the dollar store and print all of the information on 4X6 photo paper (I have tons of the sheets - again from the dollar store.)

Sorry I have been out for a while - been knee-deep working on my masters.

Love love LOVE the book you made for your friend!!!! AWESOME!!

Can't wait to work on my stuff - but it will have to wait until school's out - not much time now.

Wow!!! That is good planning!!!!!! You should make and sell those :) I think that's a great tool for first timers or those who don't go as often...after that I think you tend to know your plan of attack but those were some great tips including the fast pass one!!!

Great Friend!!!
