Countdown Calendar using Mickey head paint samples..

DSC01391.jpg

I made one for our Wedding Day and then Disneymoon. I started the countdown 60 days out. I was a little anxious. :goodvibes

I then put Disney stickers on each day for the accurate count.

The maroonish color matched the dresses for my wedding and matched my castle cake hidden Mickey's. Then of course I did the LGMH for the day we left for our Disneymoon.

I also decided to add pictures from our first trip to Disney together in 2005. It was DH first trip...I am making a Disney lover out of him.

Here is the calendar I just finished. Behind each colored square is a Disney Fun Fact or a photo from last years trip.

you guys are just amazing to do all that,, since our DD is 5 we did a landmarking kinda way to let her know when Disney was,, Prek grad, then dance recital and Grandmas visit, then swim lessons, THEN DISNEY, LOL,, she thought the minute we finished swim lessons we were leaving, LOL,, we still had 2 days,, this might be an awesome idea for our next trip though when she can understand the countdown method better

WOW! THESE ARE SOOOOOO COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks so much for the great ideas! I think I may have a lot of work on my hands!

We took the easy way out. Just numbered them and taped them to the frig.

I sent my wife to the store for a few of them and she came back with 190+ over two days. Its not pretty but we put the 1st 60 on top then the next on the bottom with the last 45 ish or so in the middle. I think I m going to clean this up in the future.

No easy out, the perfect idea! Especially for older kids who just want to countdown. So many good ideas here! Will need to decided and get crackin' this afternoon!

Heres the one I made in 08 for our trip. I think I will use the paint chips for this coming trip. On the 08 version I had something in each days drawer, it ranged from candy to a trading pin to stickers. My daughter loved it.

Great ideas.

Anyone care to say where they found the 'Disney Vacation' graphic with the castle and balloons...that I saw a few times above?

I also printed out the numbers using the Disney font and just punched them out using a circle punch and stuck them on the paint chips.

I love your calendar! I'm not very crafty, can you give me some tips? How did you put the pictures under the Mickey heads? Where did you get those pictures? Did you just print them yourself? I've been to Home Depot for the paint chips, have my poster board, and raring to go!
