Couldn't change my reservation from OKW to Dolphin or would lose tickets

I called to switch my OKW package with 7 day tickets to a reservation I had already made at the Dolphin and wanted to change my tickets to 4 day (we had decided to do Universal for 3 days prior to Disney). CM said no. If I change my OKW reservation, I lose my tickets. I am stuck. He said an announcement concerning new ticket purchases will be coming out in 2 days, but he didn't know if it was continuing the "no new tickets for 2020" or if they were going to start allowing ticket purchases. My trip is July 28. UGH!!!

It stinks to have the uncertainty, but you have time. See what the ticket situation is in a few days, and then decide. You don’t have to make the decision right now.

I'm thinking the problem is because you have a package with Disney ( that includes tickets ) and that the Dolphin is not a Disney property ( just a partner ). So the cancel and rebook process could be on different systems. In the past, they would probably just cancel your reservation and rebook you the ticket only, BUT with everything going on right now it throws a wrench into it.

If you haven't already, I would call back and confirm this is the problem. If needed, I'd escalate it to a supervisor just to see what your options may be. You may get the same answer but if never hurts to ask nicely.

Yes, that is the problem. He said he would have to cancel my package, and my tickets are in the package.
