thinking after lunch I may want to stay for BritishInvasion or OffKilter
would DS13 be able to get back to BCV himself? or should I plan on walking him back? safe enough?
of course we will have done the walk together before I send him on his own

My middle DS is 14 and I wouldn't want him walking back to our room alone and then staying there alone. Its not that I don't trust him, I just wouldn't want others to see him making the trip alone and going back to a room alone. I always feel there is safety in numbers. If there was someone going with him, it would be ok, but just the thought of him alone would bother me.

I would trust my daughters to return to the villas alone -- no problem. However, I do not trust all the other people around them, so my children wouldn't be walking back alone. We've heard of too many crazy incidences of stranger abduction recently.

Anyway, who wouldn't want to stay and watch Off-Kilter?

I agree totaly with Mrs. Pete. I would trust my almost 13 year old but it's not a trust issue but a safety issue. Leaving the park alone and entering the room alone is just not a good idea. I also think he will like British Invasion or Off kilter.

thank you - thats what I was thinking
he has a good head on his shoulders - I knew he could do it
but I just wasnt sure of the other ppl out in the "world"

I dont think Id be comfortable enough to enjoy myself not knowing if he made it back safely

While the odds of something happening are slim/remote, why take the chance. There are predators even in the happiest place on earth.... sad but true. :guilty:

It makes me sad that my children can not do the same things I did as a kid, as far as riding bikes around town alone, walking to a store alone etc... I agree that there is safety in numbers.

I always tell my 12 yr.old, I trust her but I don't trust other people out there!

Good luck! :flower:

Personally, I wouldn't have any difficulty letting a responsible 13-yr old go that short little distance, nor would I worry about him walking down a hotel corridor alone. As long as he knows the safety rules and can be trusted to obey them, I would feel fine about it. If you carry a cellphone, you could always have him ring the phone when he reached your room, so as to assure yourself he'd made it safely and not taken any unauthorized side trips.
