I have had an upset stomach all day and until a little while ago, a very bad headache. DH has had a migraine and upset stomach most of the day, and now he's running a fever as well. To top it off and make it even more perfect, DS has had diarrhea since yesterday. We're trying to keep him hydrated and eating fiber-rich foods, which I pray will make it go away. If it doesn't go away tonight or tomorrow, I'm calling the pedi on Mon.

Update--Monday
DH and I were both really sick all day yesterday and DS's diarrhea seems to be clearing up. I ended up vomiting a lot yesterday and woke up with a slight fever this morning. We know it can't be CO2 poisoning because we have a CO2 detector and it hasn't gone off at all. DH thinks the two of us are both so ill because of some bad food we ate on either Weds or Thurs, possibly as late as Fri. DH forced himself to go into work this morning and has a public service thing he's going to force himself to go to this evening, although I think he should stay home.

Is it the flu, or maybe you should check to see if there is a carbon monoxide leak???? Strange that all of you are so sick. Also try opening all you windows even if you do have the flu, just to get fresh air in the house and all the germs out. :grouphug:

Sending pixie dust to help speed up the healing process. :wizard: :grouphug:

This sounds like a virus that ran through our house about three weeks ago. It is not the flu. We all had that two months ago and that was a total different thing.

Advil helped us feel better. So you don't have to get the shot gun out. Advil and liquids and naps will be my prescription.

My daughter's fever got pretty high at the end of her sick time, and freaked us out. We called the doctor's after hours nurse and went through a battery of questions to check for danger signs that would send us to the ER. She had none of those.
The doctor said to alternate advil and tyenol to help keep it down. It finally went down within 18 hours. She felt as nothing ever happened.

I had it about 3 weeks ago, but no one else in my house got it nearly as bad as I did. They just had a "break out" of the same thing at a local college in the last week or so.

Bumping with the update so ya'll don't think I died over the weekend.

Although if I did die, I'm sure some of you would be quite relieved.;) :teeth:

Umm, I don't want to be rude but if your DH has the stomach flu he is infecting all of the people he comes into contact with. That is not much of a "public service" if you ask me......

I'm not sure what he has, tbh. Could be stomach flu. Could be something else. If it IS stomach flu, he infected all his coworkers today at work, too. As well as his mom/dad since we were over there for dinner last night.

:grouphug: Hope that everyone is feeling better today.Shirley

By the way...what does TOV mean?

Two of my kids and myself had the same symptoms recently, dr's office kept saying it's a virus, it'll pass in 5-7 days. When ds was going on day 8, I took him in and had them do a strep test- both kids came out positive. Maybe you guys have strep??

I can't tell where you live, but I live in the NW and we are currently experienceing higher than normal incidences of the norovirus (not enough cases for it to be called an "outbreak"). Anyway, the norovirus is that nasty GI virus that causes really bad diarrhea and vomiting. It makes the news every now and then because this is one of the viruses to "attack" cruise ships. It is very contagious. Someone who has this touches a doorknob (and hasn't properly washed their hands) and then you come along and touch the same doorknob and whamo you have it too. Even using a public restroom (ie the toilet) after someone who has this can spread it. In Vancouver, WA a nursing home has been crippled because so many residents and employees have contracted the norovirus. I really hope this isn't what is happening to your family, but if it is keep your family away from everyone else!! You will only continue to spread it. I can certainly understand obligations to work and other things, but you won't do any good by possibly spreading it to others. Feel better soon. :grouphug:

HAHAHA! I'm not laughing at you... I am laughing with you.

I have the same thing. Doctor here in Maryland diagnosed it as the Flu yesterday. I know I got it from school as there's a lot of it running around. Edit to add: It's the Flu with this GI component (that sounds a lot like the Norovirus metioned above) that I was diagnosed with.

I ate Saturday night at 9pm and it came up around 2 am. I woke up feeling like a train wreck- and DH thought it was becuase I a few glasses of wine at a friend's house  - and dry heaved all morning. Then everything at the other end set in. Woke up Monday achey, running a fever, and still dryheaving. I am out again today becuase of the aches and fever. Doing a bit better on solid foods- kept Cheerios and a banana down. Mom and Dad (docs too) said bananas are good becuase they taste the same both ways. I know it sounds gross.

I am feeling a bit better today although I feel more achey than I have. My appetite is coming back.. drats. I liked losing 5 lbs in a matter of two days. I guess a bowl of rice and a bowl of chicken noodle soup in 50 hours will do that to you. Note to self before Typhoon Lagoon! :rotfl:

Doc also said it's making it way in and out really quickly. DO NOT stop it with Immodium or the like as you only prolong how long it's in your system. Be sure to stay hydrated. She told me 2-3 8oz glasses of water by noon, 4-6 by 6pm and 8 by 8pm. In other words, get 64 oz in and do so throughout the day.

Hope you both feel better! I got banished to the couch last night in a last ditch attempt to keep DH from getting ill.... :rolleyes2

See, my DH told me that it was because I drank wine on Saturday night, too and that's why I got sick. I only lost 4 pounds, though. I didn't want to drink anything because I knew it would come straight out. I also didn't eat until Monday at lunch. I had 1/2 of a toasted cheese sandwich. It took away my weakness and I've been sipping diet coke for these 3 days. I can still feel that I have a stomach even though the horrible cramping and all that went with it are gone. What a way to jumpstart a diet!

I didn't have the headache part of this virus. That laid me up on Palm Sunday and the next day. It was the worst migraine that I ever had and I know that it was a virus because my DS had the same horrific headache.

I have the same thing, and I live in Miami. :guilty: Thanks for the tip about the Immodium, I have been taking that, but only because I only have so many pair of clean undies. :rolleyes2 My intestines do not feel good, and making gurgly noises. :sad2: Hope I am able to go to work at 5:00am tomorrow.
