Could you guys

glo, my sister had one done when she was exactly Kassie's age! If she's anything like my sister (and i really don't know Kassie, so i don't know) she'll be mostly worried about the anastheology/numbing/going to sleep process. anyways, i'll keep you both in my thoughts! i hope it all goes well!

Wagamama that is the big thing. Kassie is not getting general anesthisia. She is going to have a local done, and I was hoping they would give her the twilight stuff where she gets loopy, and they aren't. Yes, I am a little nervous for her. I can not go in with her, and I am a wreck too :(

Big {{hugs}} and special thoughts for Kassie tomorrow. I had a node taken out the same way, Glo. I went with local and felt no pain whatsoever. There was discomfort after, but nothing a good nap didn't help. She'll be fine, I know it! {{hugs}} for mom, too.

Awww, I know it must be scary for her. I'll say a little prayer. :)

Maybe this will help her just a little. I had a mole removed from the back of my neck years ago. What the doctor did was numb the area with some topical cream first, then use needles to throughly numb the area. The only thing I felt was pressure during the procedure. It didn't hurt. It just felt like they kept pushing and pushing on my neck, so made a game of it and I kept pushing back. LOL! :p Within 5 minutes it was all over. I think watching them set up the equipment was scarier than anything. :p Anyway, it left a scar :( , but now you can't even see it! Over time the scar just faded away! :)

Hang in there Kassie! Almost as soon as it starts, it will be over. :) I'll be thinking about you tomorrow!

I went through this once. Truthfully, it wasn't an experience I'd like to repeat any time soon.
But it worked and the scar isn't very noticable at all.

Glo,
sorry but I need to ask....why is it that you are having it removed? My 3 year old daughter has a mole on her face...and everyone says how cute it is. I think so too....but I don't know how she will feel as a teenager! We actually have an appointment with a pediatric dermatologist next Friday to have it looked at...to see if there is any "medicail" reason to have it removed. If not, I guess we will leave it...and see what happens as she gets older and starts to notice it or be teased....as kids will inevitably do. Being a kid growing up especially those teenage years, is so hard.....and other kids during those trying years are usually so ruthless....it is very sad.

I will keep your daughter in my thoughts. Do they think it will leave a scar?

Glo,

My thoughts with Kassie tomorrow...and you too. I'm sure she'll be fine.

glo, are they going to "freeze" the mole and then remove it? My sister has had several moles removed all for medical reasons and I can promise you and Kassie there are no noticeable scars on her. The only scars she has are from when she had the chicken pox, but thats another story. Anyway, back to the "freezing". If thats what their doing, you can tell her it feels like (and I'm quoting directly from my sister): "holding an ice cube straight from the freezer and then having your finger pricked. its uncomfortable but theres no real pain". i hope this helps, you can pm me if you want, as i said she's had several moles removed in different ways.

Loads of PD and big comforts from here, Glo. I hope that it all goes very well for Kassie today. {{hugs}}

Hugs, good thoughts & ~~**PD**~~ for Kassie today, and a {{hug}} for Mom too.

Prayers and PD for Kassie. Surgery is scary at any age!

Prayers are coming your way, Glo. Prayers for Kassie and {{{HUGS}}}.

she will do great....I just know it....hugs Kassie and to mom too
