Could this work as a split stay strategy with ADRs?

I was considering doing a split say 3 day/4 day or vice versa. I decided against it because of possibly not getting a couple of really popular restaurant reservations. My understanding is at 120 days, I can start making reservations for my 7 day stay. If I split it, I would only be able to make ADRs for days 1-3 and then I would have to wait until the 120 day mark for days 4-7.

What would happen if I left my reservation as a 7 day stay, made my ADR reservations and THEN changed my stay to a split stay say a week or two later. Would I keep the reservations I already made? Or would my ADRs be affected somehow? I'm currently booked 7 nights at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

To start, you can book restaurants at 180 days before. You will have two separate booking windows if you do a split stay, so leaving it together for now should be fine. Your reservations should stay intact. Your fastpass window will open all at once regardless of the split.

Question for consideration, though: isit more important to eat at "popular" restaurants, or at enjoyable restaurants?

I would think so. We've modified our reservation several times actually and nothing ever happened to our dining reservations.

ADRs are not affected when modifying or even cancelling resort reservations.
