Could it be Staying Offsite is Easier or am I Crazy???

Hey, Emmy! Your MBMB buddy here. I think I would consider offsite if I'd been to Disney as many times as you or others on the board. Newbies like me need to be onsite. I don't want to drive any more than I have to because I have no idea where I am going since I've never been. If this was my 10th trip, I can definitely see the cost advantages for sure. Take the deal.

I had never driven in America before and our first trip was offsite, we managed just fine got lost a couple of times, but didn't take too much time out of our day. :)

We loved our first trip, we didn't feel like we were missing out on anything. We have a relaxed approach to the parks, we don't go all day every day so offsite suits us to a T.

We did a lot of hotels on a road trip LA to Vancouver, we found towards the end of the trip we were paying so much more money for the rooms so we could get ones that split into two, so hubby and I didn't have to turn all the lights off and go to bed a 7 oclock for no good reason ;)

14 nights 1 room, 3 kids, = :furious: and a bottle of valium

We have stayed off site the time that we went and it was the best thing to do. You get away from the hussle and bussle of the crowds.
My DS and I stayed on site last year with my parents and i swore i wouldnt't stay onsite again. The crowds to get on the buses where alful. Not to mention we had to stand alot of the time. We also had to wait a ton of time just for a bus. Seemed like everyday it was a wait.
This yr we r staying off site with a car rental. I feel time is worth $$$ also.

Ok, I'm impressed! :worship:

Staying onsite and offsite both have their pros and cons. I think it just depends on what you and your family like. We have done both and while I love saving money, staying Onsite is so much easier for us. I love the whole atmosphere of being at disney, including the resorts.

That's pretty much us except for the easier thing. Either way we find pretty easy but of course the only deluxe we've stayed at is WL so I imagine a monorail resort would be easier for us by far. And yes, I love the theming and the atmosphere. :)

We've come to love the 2-3 bedroom/2 bathroom thing so much, it's hard to go back to a hotel room......what we need to do is stay onsite at one of the villas. THAT is my dream trip. I'll rent points then. Hopefully next trip will be an onsite/offsite trip so I can stay at BLT for a few nights. :cloud9:

Until then, I'll take my condo offsite.

Do you have kids? Most husbands are easily convinced once you tell them that, offsite, you can have a suite, with a master bedroom door that closes...and locks. ;)

I tried that one. Oddly enough, it didn't work. This is why he wanted to have his parents come. She can stay with the "sometimes". EEEK! NO INLAWS THIS TIME! I love them but PLEASE! Anyway, we ended up not getting a suite and DH is going to have to deal - and his parents are NOT coming!

We choose to stay offsite because we like to do other things besides WDW. While DD and I would be very happy being totally absorbed in all things Disney 24/7, it would drive my husband crazy. We've never been to US/IOA but DD is a big Suess fan and so we will visit IOA. We had a great time at Old Town last year. DH and DD both like old cars so on the Friday night we'll probably go there for a while. Last year we went to St. Petersburg for the last half of our vacation. It was nice to sit on the beach and relax. We went to John's Pass and a bird sanctuary. It was nice to get away from the crowds of the parks. It just works for us. Someday I'd love to stay onsite but I think if I was to do it, I'd really do it...deluxe all the way, really get the experience. :)
