DS 8months is not dancing very well, running fever, not sleeping. All Dr. could say today was it may be some sort of virus, give him Motrin followed by Tylenol. What? Some sort of virus? Come on Doc. We need a cure, and we need it within a day, now.
Anybody else ever experience this? How is WDW with a sick baby?
I just new everything was going too well. We're paid for, we've got everything we need including lime green ribbon for our stroller, we're packed, and now one is suffering from "some sort of virus". When will the other get it?

Try not to get youself too upset. As the mom of 2 young children (now 6 & 5), I have weathered many trips like this. Although it can be disappointing, I have found that by keeping a steady supply of Motrin and Tylenol in their system, they do OK. My Doctor and a pharmacist friend both have said it's Ok to do Motrin every 8 hours and Tylenol every 4 simultaneously. Check with your pediatrican to play it safe, but when I need my kids to get through special events and their sick, I've done this and they've always been OK. They usually can tolerate most of the day. I have cut the length of the day back, earlier bed times, etc, and usually within 24 hours they begin to get their energy level back.

Good Luck!!

I have 3 kids and it wasn't that long ago my youngest (1 yr) got this and it lasted about 24 to 36 hours. So I wouldn't worry too much. Neither of my older 2 got it afterwards so hopefully starting tomorrow he will feel better and you will be in the clear. But if not take the advice of the previous post because that would be what I would do too. Good Luck and have fun!!!

Great News! DS (8 mo.s) woke up in a wonderful mood, and so did I, fever's gone!

Just don't forget to pack the Tylenol and Motrin, Just in case someone else picks it up. Maybe Adult and children versions in your carry-on bag? Hope everyone stays healthy!:sunny:

If he is still not dancing well by the time you get back, I recommend lessons!

Just thought I would let you know that Disney is great when your children are sick. My DS (23 mos.) got sick during our last trip. He just ran a fever, didn't seem to have any other syptoms. Of course the thermometer was the one thing we forgot to pack. The first-aid station at MK took his temp. and gave him some motrin free of charge. The front desk gave us a number to a local drug store that delivered a thermometer to us. The fever broke with-in 24 hours but the next day he was very fussy. We were worried that maybe he had a ear infection. There is a clinic that will pick you up at your resort and take you to the clinic and back at no charge. It turns out that his ears were fine. It was just a virus. We also had tickets to the Halloween Party at MK the night that we took him to the clinic. Disney was nice enough to exchange those tickets for tickets to the next Halloween Party.
