Dh and I were talking about our cruise again (imagine that ?? ;) ) and he was wondering if a wine package may work for us. We would probably each drink 2 glasses of wine at dinner. I love to try all kinds of wines but DH sticks to the same kind.

I saw somewhere that a package was $145???? That seems like quite a bit more than we would think we would spend (2 people=$290) but I am not sure what it includes. Is it a specific amount of bottles or glasses per person? Do you have a choice of wines or is the wine paired with the food?

I would love to find out more details and read anyone's expereinces!

For the $145 you get to select 7 bottles of wine from the wine package list. I'm not a wine expert, but the choices were fine. You mentioned $290 for the two of you. It doesn't work that way unless you want to drink a lot of wine. What you do is select anything off the list as you want/need it. If you like one wine and your husband likes another, get both bottles at the same time. It just counts against your total of 7 bottles. If you only drink a glass or two, your dining room servers will keep the rest of the bottle for you until the next night. Theoretically, I think you could have 7 opened partially finished bottles going at one time (although I never seen it done and it probably wouldn't make your servers too happy). If you don't use all seven bottles, you can order the rest to take home (unopened only). If you go to Palo one night, you can use the same package to select a bottle there or have one of your already opened ones delivered to use. It's really a pretty flexible plan. Our last cruise, we had a group of 22, and went through a wine package every other night. finished one and started a new one. Sometimes had 4 different types of wine being served at one time!
Hope this helps!

We used it on both the 4 and 3 night cruises and loved it and plan on getting it for our upcoming 7 nighter. It was really neat not having to worry about it. Just select the bottle you want from the list. The cost is added to your ship board account along with the normal 15% gratuity.

There are two levels to choose from classic and EXPENSIVE. Unless you are real wine connisour (sp) I would go with the classic. I believe there are wine lists on castawayclub and dcltribute wed sites.
