Couch to 5k

Hi guys! I fell off the C25K (and Weight Watcher's :sad2:) wagon in the last couple of weeks. My mom is still in the hospital, her long time partner died while she was there and my cat is very, very sick. I am feeding him through a tube every 4 hours. There has been very little "me" time that has not been spent sleeping.

My plan is to re-do W6D1 today and take it slow. I'll let you know how it goes!

I'm sorry you have had a rough few weeks.

Well, I was going to go to the gym today to run but my legs still hurt from my workout yesterday. I think until I get a little stronger I'm going to have to do every other day. I will be there tomorrow morning though with my friend!

And DH has agreed to go to WDW in January for the 5k!!!

Sending pixie dust your way - you really have a lot of challenges on your plate right now! You'll get back on the wagon in time... Sometimes life just gets in the way of things. Good luck with all the big challenges you've got going. I hope your kitty gets better and that your mom gets out of the hospital soon. :grouphug:

Hang in there Robin!! Sometimes work outs need to take a back burner to family stuff but you'll get back to it. Continued prayers to you and mom.

:grouphug:

must be so hard for your mom! in the hospital, and then to lose her partner, how sad.

and you are feeding your cat - aw, I do hope your cat will get better - what tender loving care you are giving your furbaby... :lovestruc

I also fell off the... couch... no, actually I think I went back to the couch! its hot, my feet are swelling, and I feel discouraged!

Don't give up! Walk around the house, do the stairs (if you have any), just keep moving!

Most everyone who does C25K works out every other day. Your muscles need to rest between workout days. Hopefully you will feel better tomorrow!

*************

I didn't get a workout in this weekend, I was feeling under the weather all weekend.

So today I will redo week 5. I don't think I'm ready for week 6 yet.
I have been wearing my iPod nano every day and I'm averaging 5000 steps at home and 10,000 on the days I go to the school or when I run errands.
I need to step it up on the days I'm home.

So W5D3 isn't happening again. I have come down with some sickness. :sad1:

:cool1: I walked today!! Did app 1.3 miles - took the advice, put away the C25K and just walked... weather was beautiful - first walk since Thursday... one hour walk so...

thank you all for your posting, and inspiring me - I truly appreciate it! :wizard:

Did W2D2 today. went better than I thought! at some point, I won't be watching the timer count down though!!

The weather here is so weird. Its June so its normally high 80's low 90's around now, but we have rain and hail, with more rain and hail in the forecast.

Tomorrow I may just have to brave the rain to get it done.

W3D1 done! I could definately feel a difference doing the 3 minute run, especially on the second one. Hopefully I can get something in tomorrow. Our forecast is scattered thunderstorms for most of the day. Hope they don't come during the day. DS7 has his class trip to the beach tomorrow.

well didn't get my run in today. Sick still! I went to the doctors and so far results aren't in from my blood work.

However I gained 10lbs! Its scary to see that when I feel like I'm looking skinnier.

Maybe you gained muscle. :thumbsup2 Hope you feel better soon!

W8D2 was last night. I ran 2.4 miles in 28 minutes. Not the best time in the world, but it was still 85 degrees outside at 8:30!:confused3 And it's only the beginning of June! What will we do in August?

Way to go! :cheer2: That's less than a 12 minute mile! That's great in that kind of heat!

I did W5D3! I haven't felt this accomplished in a long time!

As for the illness, it turns out I have really low blood pressure and super low iron. So I should be okay again once I get those fixed.

I finished W6D3 today. Seemed like I was watching every second tick off though.

Week 7 is more of the same - I hope I can get stronger.
Warm weekend wishes to all!
:hippie:

I did W3D3 last night. Today is definately a day off. My shins were starting to bother me again. I might have to try running with my orthotics and see if that helps. I did do 3 days in a row, so I think part of it is I just over did it. I didn't feel real comfortable doing the 3 minutes so I might do an extra day of week 3 before moving on to week 4.

Redid W5D1 today. It went well and I was able to increase my speed a bit.
I did 2 miles in 30 minutes, but I needed a 45 minute workout for the biggest loser challenge so I did speed work for the last 15 minutes. I was able to get up to 5 miles per hour for 1:30 intervals and the last interval was 6mph for 30 seconds.
I'm ready for W5D2 on Monday!

After finishing the C25K program 2 weeks ago...I ran my first 5k yesterday. I was so worried about how slow I was and all the hills on the course, but I finished it in record time for me, still slow, but not anywhere near last so I was happy. 43:10 was my official time which put my pace at just under a 14 minute mile. Without trying the 3 other friends I did it with all stayed together (which actually really helped us all keep going) and we crossed the finish line together, it was AWESOME! That feeling of finishing is amazing. Such a high!:woohoo:

It's worth it ladies...keep it up wherever you are in the program, if I can do it, anybody can! 12 weeks ago I couldn't run 1 minute without thinking I was gonna die and I ran the whole thing yesterday, no walking!!!

Congratulations! That's awesome!:woohoo:I am starting Week 9 today and I'm just like you. The first week, I couldn't run 60 seconds without huffing and puffing. It was awful! But, I stuck with it and will be finished with C25K after this week. I am sooo glad I stuck with it and didn't quit. :thumbsup2

Didn't get my run in today.

The weather was terrible, and my stomach isn't doing to well. I'm not really agreeing with the iron pills they have me on.
