Costumes?

I can't wait to dress up my DS for DLR. I am making his clothes. They are not really full costumes but I think they are cute. I have made him a woody shirt and vest that he will just wear with jeans. He is not a giant fan of hats, so I am not sure we will bother with it. Also i have made a really cute mickey shirt that matches one I am making DH. We only have three days in park, so I am trying to decide what I want to do on the third day? I have a really cute pattern for a mickey costume, but part of me is just thinking about another cute shirt. hmmmmmm decisions, decisions!

Many a young padawan walking around Disneyland I have seen. :yoda:

I'm long past the allowed costume age and on 3 occasions, I've wandered around the parks with a lightsaber clipped to my belt. Twice in WDW for Star Wars Weekends and once at Disneyland on Halloween itself. Even that has gotten some extra attention from characters and CMs.

I've had many interactions with the characters where I've been asked if I'm a Jedi because of my Star Wars shirt or pins. Those are some of my most favorite interactions if only because for a little while I really was a Jedi. I can't begin to imagine what that would feel like as a child when the magic is still "real."

You said that so well! At Christmas I wore a santa Mickey Ears hat most of our trip and it really was cool to have CMs and characters (especially Mickey Mouse himself) notice the ears and react to them. My kids LOVE to dress up at the park. At the very least we wear ears and usually Disney shirts of some kind. I love the family outfits 8TimesBlessed has. Those are great! My mom, my younger kids and I would totally do that (my dad would not and my oldest daughter would do some part of it, but would never go along with the whole thing).

The force is strong with this one. :darth:

The other benefit to dressing your DS as a Jedi is that he will be much more likely to be picked to participate in the Jedi Training Academy. I think my DS got picked quickly because he had a Mickey w/lightsaber T-shirt on.

I have two girls - they will be 4 and 7 - and since we will be there in July it seems like full-on princess dresses might be hot and troublesome I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for something still magical and princessy but scaled back. I'm pretty crafty with fabric painting and applique and sewing. I just want them to be comfortable, but still get to wear something a bit special and magical and princessy.
