I bought my DD some princess dresses to wear at DLR now my son is jealous. Do boys every dress up to visit Disney? Any costume suggestions?

I have never seen boys dress up, but I would suggest a Pirate, one of the Prince's, Peter Pan?

We saw some boys dressed up as Buzz and Woody. There were quite a few pirates as well.

I have seen pirates, jedis, and a prince (not sure whom ;) ). Personally, the pirates pirate: were my fave. So cute!

A few years ago my Ds dressed in his Buzz Lightyear costume. He got SOOO much attention! He didn't wear the whole thing, but he looked pretty darn cute. I say go for it, as long as he is young enough!

This past Saturday, I was behind a family in line at PFF and their two sons were Buzz and Jack Sparrow. The princesses gave them plenty of attention and they were eating it up!

I've also seen Woody, Prince Charming, Flynn Rider, Star Wars characters, and Santa (near Christmas).

We do fun shirts as a family. We only did costumes for the Halloween party.

As you can see I make my family dress the part! Not sure how long I can get them to do it though!

i have definitely seen boys dressed up in disneyland. the most popular costume has to be a pirate! my little cousin a few years ago decided he wanted to be captain jack sparrow for a day .. and that's exactly what he did:)

Yep I'd say pirates are very popular!! And I've seen many Jedi's too :)

We were there at the start of October so plenty of kids were in costume in preparation for the Halloween party. Our son was Indiana Jones! And he wore that costume one extra day on our trip! He loved it! It got many comments :)

I say go for it!! You can also get some cool tshirts at the Disney Stores :)
My son wants an ANIMAL tshirt next

My son wore his Buzz costume. He loved being dressed up too. Now he has a woody hat and holster too so next time we'll take that too. I think its horrible there aren't more boy costumes.

My DS wore his Peter Pan costume, although it was right around the time that the 2nd Tinkerbell movie came out, so quite a few CMs asked if he was Terrance. His reply, "No, I don't have wings."

8timesblessed, you have one cute family.

Desiree Y, I know my brother always hated costumes...he would have much rather had a cool shirt or something. :P

But if there's anyone particular your son would actually like to be, I'd ask any crafty friends/relatives you have and if you don't have any, then check Etsy and see if someone has made it or will make it for you. That might be the best way to get outfits for some of the princes, for instance. They can make it out of comfortable fabrics too, instead of the satiny material of princess dresses. :)

Where did you get your daughter's cute outfits? They are so different. My Mom is making my DD a couple, but I would like a few more for her.

I got most of them off of etsy but alot of sellers are moving to facebook so they don't have the fees. They've set up a page site.

I like debbiemomofjack, StitchesNBows made our Epcot stuff, magicalmemoriesbyme, foreveryoungboutique made our pirate and halloween dresses, and ScrapsofHeaven made our stars wars and princess outfits. I don't think I posted those. There are others but they are alot more expensive. I tried to find cute but not expensive. I bought one outfit for $60 and resold it for $45. Hope that helps.

Thanks, that was very helpful. I'll be looking those up tonight!

We've also taken my son (2 years old) dressed up in costume. He has dressed up as Goofy and Mickey Mouse... Both were technically Halloween costumes, but we've used them year round. :thumbsup2 He likes it, and CMs always use it in their interactions with him.

Last year my DS4 wore his Stormtrooper costume one day, and his Pirate Mate costume another day (we had just gotten off a DCL cruise so it was from Pirate night). It was late Sept/early Oct so even not at the Halloween party (which we didn't go to) there were a decent amount of kids in costumes. People thought he was pretty cute and he was thrilled to be able to carry the blaster we bought him from the SW store as well as the sword that went with his pirate costume.

My DGF's kids wore princess costumes (age 6) and dwarf shirts (age 3).

Absolutely! I have seen MANY buzz lightyears, sometimes mickey mouse, pirates, Woody, and once a very cute little guy in an Incredibles outfit. I can't wait for my DS's first trip so I can dress him up, I just have to decide what I want him to be!

My family are annual pass holders to DLR and we are there almost every weekend. There are definitely boys who dress up.. Not as many as girls but your son won't feel out of place if he dresses up.. Always see LOTS of Jedi's, Jack Sparrows, Buzz, Woody.. I would suggest you keep it simple tho.. So much walking, add our beautiful california sun (heat depending on when you plan on visiting.. lol) and a costume may be the last thing your son wants to have on... Good Luck and hope you all have a BLAST!!!
