Well after much browsing the internet we finally got around to choosing our MNSSHP costumes. DS wanted to go in his Jack Sparrow outfit so we thought we may as well all go in the same theme. So DH has now got an adult Jack Sparrow full outfit it was only ordered yesterday afternoon and it came 1st class recorded delivery cost including shipping and VAT £53.94 from www.fancydressnation.co.uk they are in Birmingham.

Mine is a woman's 3 piece Gold Doubloon Pirate outfit with Swashbuckler hat and Booty Bag for £74 ordered over the phone from Jokers' Masquerade but it took two attempts to get an order from them. Here's why.....

There was an issue with their website which meant DH's card details were possibly fraudulently intercepted by a 3rd party!! Luckily the credit card company's fraud department rang us straight away and told us what was going on so now DH's had to cut up the card and have a new one issued and the account has been stopped until it's all sorted out again it's a bit of a nightmare but at least they know what's going on and will keep us informed. Thank goodness for card protection that's all I keep thinking:thumbsup2 Jokers' Masquerade have been in touch about it and the credit card company and the company who set up the secure website have also been on the phone . We told them what info we had and they are looking into it they thought that the site was secure they started using 3D security system on the site but the credit card company have said only used sites with Secure Code on them, we thought this one had it. Just please be aware that this problem has happened before any of you place an order. If like me the only place you can find the outfit you want is on www.joke.co.uk then please ring them to place your order as at the moment I'm very reluctant to use the site for online orders again and I wouldn't wish this on anyone else. Apparently there has been lots of card cloning going on in the London area and people have been ordering goods to sell in other fancy dress shops with these details so be aware of the problem.

Scary! Thanks for the heads up! I always pay on credit card when using the internet for this reason.

I know;) We have ordered from them in the past and never had a problem before, so we didn't think there could be any problems using them again .
Thank goodness the credit card company were so vigilant otherwise we'd have been none the wiser until the statement came in the post:scared1:

I've just tried on my outfit lets just say DH was very impressed especially since I've lost a few pounds from the end of April (still trying to lose a few more) ;) It's the correct size and everything fits where it should thank goodness I just need to sort out footwear to go with it I'm thinking of just wearing my gold toe post sandals no stockings but maybe I should work on my tan a bit:rotfl:. DH has also tried his on.. it's a little tight over his shoulders but otherwise fine... he is very slim in build so he'll be fine and DS's outift from a few years ago still fits him, Disney kids outfits are designed to get your full value out of them. We'll pick up accessories over the next few weeks and get toy pistols and swords etc out there ;)

I'll pop this thread over to the UK Trip Planning Forum as it will be a useful for others buying outfits for MNSSHP :)

We have been looking at fancy dress sites just this last couple of days ready for MNSSHP, so thanks for the warning.

Pleased to hear that your outfits are coming on well.

We had a call on Wednesday afternoon (while I was on the phone to Disney US) about the whole mess from the staff at Jokers, at the time we didn't realise it with sorting out everything else. So DH rang them back yesterday to find out why they wanted to talk to us . They said their MD wasn't happy about the whole situation and could we talk to him. DH said no there's not much point (who by the sound of things was already on the war path) he had as much info as we did on what had happened. It's my DH that has been inconvenienced and had his account frozen and we've had to do so much rearranging our plans because of a problem that was not our fault it has not inconvenienced the MD of the company. It's his responsibility to make sure the online business is well protected and security safe guarded to the best level possible.
I still made an order with them and happily it arrived next day an it was a perfect fit I couldn't be happier with the items and how quickly the got here. So it's not as if they lost my order I still made one from them:rolleyes: So we are waiting to see if they try to ring again.
I hope they do ring and at least apologise for the whole mess, I don't expect discounts off future orders or anything but something should be offered to compensate us for the inconveniences we are having. I know it's not likely but it would be good PR at least.

I've just been looking for some necklaces and bracelets to match our outfits and found a site called Pirate Treasures Jewellery which looked promising :thumbsup2
see www.pirate-treasures.com
If anyone can suggest any other sites I'm happy to take a look at them too.

what a palava  glad you have got your outfits sorted. I always use a credit card when paying on the internet.

DW bought some of these to 'enhance' her pirate costume for MNSSHP - but as we have had a rethink they she will have to put them away for another special occassion.

Here

Not sure if they could be classed as 'accessories' though :lmao:

:rotfl::rotfl:You made me giggle we saw those the other day:thumbsup2 Not my thing but they are good.

Just a little pointer on the MNSSHP costume debate.

We attended last year in full outfit and although it is great getting into the spirit of things, (and believe me some of the party goers could be easily mistaken for been the actual person they are impersonating), it was so hot last year that we have decided this year not to bother just incase it was like last.

We ended up stripping DS3 from his outfit and buying him some shorts and vest.

Dont want to put anyone off, not in the slightest, but just thought I would warn you not to have to many layers on:thumbsup2

That's why we chose light outfits to wear without loads of layers of clothing to get all hot and bothered with we will hopefully be much more comfortable;) It's one thing we have learned from going there so much... the nights can sometimes be very warm.. even in September:thumbsup2
