Costume Help!!!!!

Need to make 4 Sesame Street heads for costumes... was thinking hooded sweatshirts, I bought boa's go over the hooded shirt, but if i glue them on, i'm ruining the sweatshirt for a days worth of wear and they aren't cheap.

I was thinking a tshirt in the color I need but the HEAD!! eeek!

I really really need help!!! Does anyone have suggestions????

Use knit hats in the right color and glue on ping pong ball halves for the eyes. You can use felt for other features. It glues easy or you can sew it and it does not fray.

I was going to use inexpensive knit hats with stryofoam balls I had purchased already .. maybe put the feather boa's on that? so it hangs down or will look like fur??

You could loosely hand stitch the boa around the hood. Then cut the thread when halloween is over, and the hoodie should be fine?

Yes, my thought was a simple stitch that you could easily take out when finished.. I can't sew a lick but that was my thought... Hope you can find a decision that works best for you!!

You only need to lightly tack with a thread which matches - you can do it while watching TV and you'd be surprised how quickly it can be done (I did it with sequin lengths for a friend's jacket)

I'm just thinking too, how hot it might be with sweatshirts on with hoods all night long - at a party - we won't be outside - depending on the weather actually.. I'm having a house party --- I'll be running around, etc.. and be sweating ..

I was just thinking the tee-shirts with cookies on it for the monster and maybe tickle me on the red one for my daughter..

My son said what about baseball caps with the feathers attached and the eyes...

We can just take the hat off when we need - I still like the knit cap thought - I can buy them cheaply at the dollar store.. and cover it with the feather boas!

If you are inside, I definitely go with the baseball caps decorated up!!! then a coordinating t-shirt w/ some kind of wording/cookie/ trash can/ and something cute for big bird!!
