Hi everyone! Ok, so we have tix for the Pirate & Princess Party on Aug 28th. And I just got a Cinderella costume to wear for it! But now I'm wondering if I'll feel silly? Or are lots of other adults going to be in costume, too? Baby will be Cinderella, too, and DS and DH are planning on being pirates. What do you think? TIA!

I LOVE getting dressed up, and what better place to be able to be a kid again than Disney. I would definitely dress up like Cinderella with a crown and glass slippers and a beautiful gown if I wanted to. I still dress up on Halloween and I love it. I am going to the Pirate Princess Party also, but I have chosen to dress like a pirate. I like to be a little unconventional and I thought a female pirate would be a lot of fun. I don't care if no one else is dressed up, it's fun for me and I will have a great time. I should tell you though that I went to a MNSHP and lots of adults dressed up so I am sure they will this time too. Either way, if you have the costume you should absolutely wear it and have a ball :thumbsup2

Thanks! I'm pretty excited about it  ! Seeing Cinderella's castle turns me into a 6 year old again :cutie: I haven't told DH I got the costume yet -- he's going to make so much fun of me :upsidedow

Adults dressing up is a major Disney no no and you will be removed from the park.

I've seen adults denied access due to costumes. I've never asked what the criteria is but I would hope that dressing for the Pirate and Princess party would be okay. I would definitely check before going.

Worse case is that you would have to pair down your costume a little to conform to their requirements. If you get any more detail please post since I'm curious about this. GOOD LUCK!!!

Wow! We are also going to the P&P party on Aug 28th! See you there!:cool1:

I am not dressing up however! With four little kids (3 pirates and 1 princess) I'm lucky I can get them all done up! The boys will be wearing their pirate gear and dd will be Cinderella, and DH has a pirate shirt he will also wear. I will be cruising in shorts and a tinkerbell tank!

Have fun dressing up though!

I was under the impression that they made an exception for the hard ticketed parties and that this was one of the only times an adult (over 12 years of age) could dress up.

Question is-where do I find an adult size princess costume for a reasonable price?

I got mine on ebay, for about $40 shipped. Double what I wanted to pay, but almost half of what disney shopping wanted :)

I'll call Disney tomorrow and check what the deal is, and I'll let you know what i find out!

Adults will be turned away during a hard ticket event IF:

THey are wearing a "face character" costume (They do not want any guests to confuse them with the REAL Face Characters - you may dress as a Princess, but not as Cinderellla complete with blonde wing)

They are wearing anything that may be offensive

They are wearing anything that may be mistaken for a real weapon

um I know there are more "rules" but can't think of any off the top of my head right now.

HTH!

Where can we find a list of what is allowed to be wore at P and P?

Our TA told us that we SHOULD dress up ! She said that many, many people dress up. SO, the 4 of us (DS,DD,DW, Dme) all have pirate costumes for the party on Aug 21. We have pants, boots, shirts and blouses, hats, wigs, belts, scarfs, the whole works ! We even picked up some inexpensive pirate booty (jewelry) ! Everything except weapons, which only makes sense. Dress up, you'll have a great time ! Think of it as a dress rehersal for Halloween !! Good luck and have fun !!:thumbsup2

Hi! We are going on the 31st. I already have my tickets from Disney and this is what it says right on the purchase form that came with my tickets:

"If you wish, you are invited to attend the party in your favorite pirate or princess costume.
FOR THE SAFETY OF YOURSELF AND OTHERS, PLEASE ADHERE TO THE GUIDELINES BELOW.
Costumes should NOT:
- Obstruct the guest's view or interfere with their ability to board/unload form attractions and/or the WALT DISNEY WORLD Resort transportation system (including monorails, ferry boats and motorcoaches).
- Drag on the ground.
- Contain sharp or pointed objects or material that may accidentally strike another guest.
- Be offensive to other guests.
- Contain any weapons which resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon. "

According to Disney's guidelines for this event the OP should be fine.
OP- We will be dressed as Pirates. First just DD4 and DD8 were going to dress up. Then DS11 decided to get in on the action. So, I figured why not join them. Still working on DH. He thinks we've lost our minds but I think we'll talk him into it. pirate:

My DS will be a pirate. My DD will be either Cindy or Snow White.

DH will have pirate accessories. I will have a tiara (the one from my wedding) :cloud9:  :cloud9: and other princess accessories. Can't wait!!!

I am going with my 3 year old to the party on august 24th. I have researched dressing up and it is fine because it is a hard ticketed event. Just like MNSSHP.

I got my tickets on Saturday and they also said you could dress up!!! :woohoo:

Note: The average high temp in Aug is 92. The avg low (probably at 3am) is 72. Right now--July 22 at 10:51pm--according to Accuweather.com it is 78 degrees with 90% humidity. You and your kids are going to be running around. I would be very careful about having to much on during P&P no matter how bad you want to dress up.
