Costs at HHI versus a WDW trip

To gropherit: We were at HH from 8/21- 8/28. I don't know if the resort was at full capacity or not. It never felt crowded and we never had a problem getting a lounge at either pool. The beach is so large that it was never crowded! The craft activities were never overcrowded but the dolphin tours book quickly, as do the kids night out.
I can't tell you how much we all enjoyed the shrimp boil, and my sister does not eat seafood! There were boiled shrimps (nice size, not tiny cocktail shrimp), smoked sausage, really delicious sliced pork tenderloin. ( The sause on it was soooo good...the brown sugar made it sweet). Also, potatoes, corn on the cob, really yummy hush puppies, mac and cheese and chicken fingers. There was cheesecake for dessert. There was lemonade, ice tea and water to drink. B'Lou Crabbe entertained on his bango. The evening is laid back and realaxing. There's a fenced in playground next to the picnic tables, so the kids had a place to run around. We enjoyed this evening more than the backyard bbq but we liked that too!. The Shrimp boil was $24.95 per adult and $8.95 per child, all you can eat. I hope you have the opportunity to try it and enjoy it as much as we did!

We were there 2 weeks ago....I spent 300 bucks, which included my member watch!! So, we did not do bad at all. We ate breakfast in the room and went out to dinner. We do not eat seafood, so our bills were much less that most families. Much cheaper than Disney!!

we went the 21st through the 28th....They claimed that it was 100% occupied, however, I find that hard to believe. I would go again at this time of the year. There were times that the pool at the beach house was packed, however, when we left and returned to the resort, that one was empty. I think many people go to the ocean/beach house in the AM and do the resort in the PM.

Good luck,
Kim
