Hi. This is my first time on this board. Hope to learn some valuable information for my upcoming trip. Husband and I are going to be in Florida and will be spending one day at the Magic Kingdom and one day at Epcot. Wondering how much transportation costs if we don't go take the park hopper option. Also, since we will be there the 1st week of May, should we avoid the 5th since that is the first day of the Happiest Celebration on Earth. Will there apt to be delays, extra large crowds etc. Any advise would be appreciated.

Welcome to the boards!

If you only have two days, then not park hopping is the best idea, as you decided. That way to can concentrate on doing each park fully.

Transportation, if you mean within the resort, is free - if you hold valid admission media you will be fine (and the almost never even look for that). Also, if you are staying on-property it will be free, but if you mean transportation to the parks from off-site, you'd have to consult your resort.

On the 5th Epcot is closing at 3, so you definately don't want to go there, but the MK is likely to be extra busy that night because Epcot will be closed (and many people choose Epcot as a nighttime park). Any of the other days that week should be unaffected though.

Just make sure you get there early!

Disney transportation is free for everyone. If you are off site some hotels charge a fee for their shuttles.
As for the 5th-- as the previous poster said-- stay away from Epcot (they're closing early). You may want to avoid MK too, if this is your only day. W/ Epcot closed early, it's bound to push some overflow crowds into the MK.
We tend to not park hop on most of our trips. This is because, personally, we don't like the amount of time it takes to transfer places. However, w/ limited time it can be a great way to see main attractions at each park.

What is a valid admission media? Where can you get one and what would it cost? What happens if you don't have one and they do check? We are just looking for transportation to MK and Epcot but we are not staying on site.
