there's four of us two adults a 4 yr old and a 6yr old. want to stay in a disney all star resort for 14 nights in july. i'm too lazy to trawl thru all the brochures yet lol what would the average price be?

We're going on the 5th July for 2 weeks and staying at a moderate hotel POR and including our car hire and flying from Glasgow We paid £3700. I looked on Travel supermarket to get my prices and found airtours the cheapest with Thomson and First choice about £200 dearer.

There's a rumor that Disney are changing their pricing plans next year so that you will be paying more for some bookings, so if you book a week that starts in value season and then have a few days at peak time that's what they will charge you for not like the old system where they would have charged you for value season all week.
This can have a big impact on the cost you'll be charged so choose wisely, that first week of July might cause a sting in the old budget try to pick the two weeks after 4th July they may be a little less costly but the parks are still busy or if you can pick two weeks in August when crowds tend to be a little better to manage.

Here is the article:

Major changes are coming to the hotel reservation system beginning June 23, 2007. At that time, a new program will be instituted for all reservations beginning January 1, 2008. Pricing and rates for 2008 Walt Disney World hotels will become date specific.

Here's how it effects your budget: You will pay a nightly rate based on the season of that date. If you reserve night 1 under the value season and nights 2-5 under peak season, you will no longer be able to maintain the value season rate for the entire reservation.

Premium rates will now be applied for premium dates. A weekend may be considered premium so that friday and saturday night pricing may be higher than sunday - thursday, even if in the same "season".

In theory, you could be paying a different price for each night of your stay.

The upside, if there is one, is that you no longer have to split reservations and recheck into your hotel.

No word on how this may effect Annual Passholder rates.

When making room only reservations for 2008 you must specifically ask for the rate for each night otherwise you will just be given a total price for your stay. Package pricing will not be broken down by day.

More details as they become available.

This july or next?

Try travel city direct website, for this July they have prices at POP, not sure about ALLstars from £479pp with car and insurance.

If it is this July you should beable to get a good late deal but limited availibility for about £2,000 all in. For next year i would realistly say £3,000 all in.

Someone correct me if i am wrong! Really depends but i am guessing you want in the summer holidays because you have young children in school; can get pricey.

Thanks for explaining it my head is still asleep ;)

I'm not sure how this will affect the bookings for next year yet but it may make people really think about the whole budget for their holiday next year and probably the year after too.
We'll have to wait to see if AP holders and DVC get a better deal or not.

I guess we had better save for the next 3 years to make sure we have the funds for another trip if we want to go back to Orlando.. no doubt the other hotel chains will follow Disney's pricing plans.
