What is it that you are trying to do? If you have the placeholder you can transfer that to them. Then call them if you need to change to another cruise.

i just paid my 2018 deposit and am now going to call costco to transfer to them... they didnt have rooms in cat 5e open on their website, but on dcl there are lots open for my sailing. so i paid my deposit on dcl site. hope i still get the 235 cash card still.

You can. They just transfer your ressie. Did you get the form and email it to them?

I didn't know you could book airline travel with Costco.

I dont see any benefit. I book directly with the airlines. I can find the same deal anyone else can and have quick access if something pops up.

I wanted clarification of whether or not you can set up a reservation or hold online when you have a placeholder. I was told you could not, that you had to call, and wait.

OK, now I get it. You are trying to change the dates of your reserved cruise. That does require a phone call. A small price to pay for the discount you get.

While you can make the reservation online and put it on hold, I dont think they can just switch them. It would require you to release the room by canceling that reservation so they could have access to it.
