I just purchased 5 of the above for $89.99 each including tax. I received voucher type cards that are to be exchanged, I assume, at a park ticket window.

This appears to be a very good price based on what my limited amount of research has been able to uncover.

The tickets don't start until 1st day of activation. We are going in late August. We made reservations directly at Portifino for 6 nights for one of the larger (490 sq.ft) rooms. Received the 41% overall room discount off of rack.

We have not been to Universal since 1994 when there was only 1 park, 2 of us and no kids. Taking a break from Disney this summer and looking forward to seeing what Universal has to offer.

We are squeezing 4 nights at Disney starting on 3/13 utilizing our AP's that expire before our spring break starts. Kids have off some inclement weather days that were not used here in the warm South.

Any input on these tickets or the type of room, etc. is most appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

GinaBean,

These were sold inside the store...don't see them on their website.

They have the Costco name on the vouchers. I believe that they are a Costco member only type item.

We already have our tickets but would LOVE the discount for the resort. We're Costco members. Do you have to buy the tickets and lodging together? Do I have to go into the store to make reservations for the resort?

You should be able to go to the Loew's Hotel website and book Portofino, Hard Rock or Royal Pacific and get those rates (for certain dates) on your own.

Right now they have Super Savers such as book 3 get 2 free and 41% off a 6 night stay.

Good Luck.

I just called my Costco store and they are not running this promo. This was an OHIO store. Does anyone know which states are offering this?

are the 3 month cosco passes considered power or preferred passes?
is there any difference on the perks with the 3 month passes compared to the annual ones?

i've not done the 3 month passes before as i have gone with the annual ones.

I would think they would be considered Power Passes...no discounts...just admission to the parks.

thanks Metro.

i know someone that is interested in buying the costco pass but didn't want to if it was like the power pass and no discounts for hotels or the parks.

I'll tell them to take a pass and go for the preferred pass instead.

It's just a guess but I can't imagine Universal would sell a full pass for 3 months with all the goodies...I could be wrong.

We live in SC, our store also has discounts for Biltmore Mansion located nearby in Asheville, NC. Movie tickets at certain chains are also sold. Other tickets have been sold in the past. Did not pay a ton of attention because I was looking for the Universal Passes only. The Universal Passes may have something to do with our proximity to Florida?

As previous poster, pointed out....the room discounts that we received are part of an on-going Universal promotion to fill rooms. Depends on when you are going as to the availiability.

We only wanted 7 day passes and this turned out based on the best price (when shipping/tax/handling) was considered to almost buy 5 for the price of 4.

I looked at packages and felt that those prices (combining tickets and room) were nothing that we could not find ourselves. I would have been happy to give business to those who could use it but the cancellation rules were more restrictive than what we reserved through Universal.

You never know when you might have to change or cancel a trip but we will use the tickets at some point, no matter.

No special perks with these passes, but we require none. The room was already available with substantial discounting when we are going 8/23 - 8/29.

The specials on the rooms are not available after oct 8th. the deal of book so many nights, get so many free is over by the time i arrive.

my friend is going in later october. i told her i would ask her question if there was any discussion about it on the boards.

i have been a APH holder for years and never paid attention to the 3 month passes which is what she wanted.

I have to rely on others that do have them, to find out the perks in going that way instead of the annual passes. APs i know, 3 month passes i don't.

October is a busy time for the onsite hotels and not much on discounts with the ap or aaa so far. HHN fills the places up without major discounts or free nights.

i know the perks for being a resident of fl and ga are great.
but, i'm up north and miss out on all the fun.......... ..and discounts.

I am so mad at myself. I purchased 5 tickets from Universal online yesterday. DH went to Costco today and said they have the $89 tickets. I could have saved $50. I am going to be in a bad mood all day now.

call and cancel your order then buy from cosco.
that's an option for you.

i don't know about the notation of all sales final.

i have canceled my orders before with the online store and i had no issue with that.

Called today and tried to cancel the tickets purchased online. They said all ticket sales are final. Oh well, it was worth a try.

i'm going to guess the universal has changed their policy then.

at least you do have tickets so you are set for the parks.

I tried again today to cancel my ticket order and got another person who said no problem and it will take 7-10 to process the credit. I am so happy. I will save $50 with the Costco tickets and get 3 months instead of 7 days. Woo Hoo!
