Just a quick question. A friend told me that Costo has significant savings for the DCL. Has anyone booked their cruise through Costco?

I have cruised DCL once before and have an upcoming cruise already booked, both times have used Costco and love them. So far on each of the cruises I have been able to save between $500-800 dollars over the DCL price.

I also originally booked the FL-CA repositioning cruise directly with DCL. When I called Costco the next day, I was able to move the reservation over to them and saved close to $1500 over DCL. Unforunately we were unable to keep that reservation for other reasons, but am still impressed that they were going to be able to save me that much.

Though I have not used another agency, I did do some research and received price qoutes from a good number of other TA's. Several were able to come fairly close to Costco's quote, but none were able to beat them for the sailings and intinerary we wanted. Do some comparision shopping. Some TA's might quote slightly higher, but offer some incentives ($250 in ship board credits, etc.) that might be worth more to you and bring the quotes fairly equal.

Best of luck and happy cruising!!

I also booked through Costco and saved $700 over DCL and several TAs.

I too booked through Costco. I have a friend cruising this Jan. and could not wait to book mine - Halloween 2005. It's a long ways off, but could not be more excited!!

After getting quotes from several TA - Costco still saved us about $600 even taking into consideration the refunds and rebates offered by other TA.

Hope this helps!

We saved "only" $176 on our 14 day repo (CA to FL) cruise, but that was because I was one of the first to book the repo cruise on May 5th and the original DCL price was already only $2768 for a cat 12 for two adults and a 3 year old (we transfered the reservation from DCL to Costco after).

I booked our 2/13/05 through Costco Travel. The only thing I noticed with Costco Travel is that the final payment is due sooner than with other TAs. I'm not sure why they want the final payment sooner, but I guess it will be fine. The cancellation policy is the same.

On my Costco itinerary confirmation, it says my final payment is due October 4, 2005 for our December 24, 2005 cruise. That's 81 days before departure... an odd number LOL.

I booked my 11/2804 Wonder 4 night through CostCo and saved about $300 over DCL and almost $200 over the lowest priced TA I found. Everyone is pleasant to work with and they have been extremely helpful. Even held my reservation for me when I realized I didn't have the right credit card in my wallet to pay the deposit!

My final payment is due November 24th for the February 13th cruise - again 81 days prior. It is an odd number isn't it?

I transferred our Repo cruise from DCL to Costco Travel and saved $422 on a Cat. 6 stateroom.

We've sailed twice through Costco and have ressies for California 8/13/05 through them. The savings were significant. At least $300 cheaper than the cheapest fare we could find.

Costco travel have been great to deal with. We've switched cruises several times and they've always been helpful. The amount we saved depended upon the cruise but it was an average of $600! I highly recommend them!! :D

I keep reading on these boards about Costco travel, but when
I google up a search I can't find it. Could someone post a web
site?

costco travel is the travel agency portion of the costco company. costco is like price club or sam's club or bj's warehouse, those members-only wholesale discount stores.

http://costco.com/Common/Category.aspx?cat=1133 is the page for the travel agency, but they don't have much information online and you can't get quotes or place reservations online; you have to call (and oftentimes there'll be decent hold time, but the price savings is usually worth it).

this is the page specifically for disney cruises:

http://costco.com/Browse/Productgro...12&whse=&topnav=&cat=1459&hierPath=1133*1459*

call 1-877-849-2730 for reservations.

Here's more information on DCL Cruises with Costco: click here. You have to call for pricing, the toll-free number is on the website. In general, discounts are 5% off for inside rooms, 10% for outside (porthole/verandah) rooms.

I've used Costco for two cruises (one this month - yippee!), and I've been satisfied with the service and happy with the savings. They do ask for the final payment a bit early - I think it's up to 90 days now, although I'm not certain. I would recommend checking in with Costco at about the 90 mark - I called with about 80 days to go, to inquire about possibly canceling my cruise (thank goodness I didn't need to!), and it turns out they were wondering where my final payment was! Somehow I fell through the cracks, and they never sent me a new statement with the updated payment date. Good thing I called.

Anyway, I definitely recommend Costco for the savings - but be sure to check on when your payment is due!

April,

off topic...Congrats on the weight loss that is great!!! How did you do it? I've been doing low carb for a year and lost 20 lbs...would like to lose 10 more, but am stuck. I exercise too, but not as frequently as I'd like with 2 kids under 4 and full time job, its hard to find the time.

My pmt is due on Sep. 22 for departure- 12/12- 81 days- weird-

Costco was about $300 less than the closest competitor (allseas) for my 4 night cruise for family of 5 in a cat 4. They are nice to deal with. (Now that early booking savings is over for my date My rate is $435 less than the allseas price. I don't know why that makes me happy.)

Thanks for the information about Costco, I did not realize it was
a warehouse club. We don't have them down here in South Texas.:(

wintermom, you can become a member even without one in your area. many people have become costco members just for the discount. the membership runs around $50 (or less, i don't remember), and if it could save you hundreds, it's worth it. try calling them and find out the price difference between your current pricing and their pricing then decide if it's worth it to sign up as a member. you can become a member over the phone at the same time you book your cruise i think.

I was told you could receive one quote without giving them the membership number. In my case, I told them my membership had expired. They gave me the quote, I renewed my membership (the next day -- at the store) called back and booked the cruise.

I found them easy to deal with. I called a couple of days ago to change from one cabin to two adjoining cabins and the agent was very helpful. Called Disney and found us adjoining cabins. Rate was better than other sites I visited.

Good luck!
