Have any of you used Costco travel to book your hotel/ticket packages? If so, did it work out okay? I'm considering booking through them since they offer the premium meal vouchers & the $20 gift card! Thanks, Kelly :wizard:

We booked through Costco last year & everything went just fine. I just booked another trip with them a few weeks ago. I love how you can make the payments whenever you want & how much you want at a time.

Thanks, Mindy71! How far in advance did they send you the documents? I'm hoping DL will have the "buy 3, get 2 free" deal again, and I would hope that Costco would make the changes if I book in advance and then the deal comes out afterwards...? Did you eat at Goofy's for your premium meal? We have never eaten there, and would love to do it this time! ;)

I honestly can't remember when the documents were sent. Probably a few weeks before the trip.

I have read that if they put out a better deal that you can call them & they will honor it. I'm keeping my eye out for any changes, as our trip isn't until August.

Finally, yes, we did choose Goofy's kitchen. We're thinking of trying something new this time, but will probably stick with the 'ole standby.

We use to book with Costco and never had a problem, but they do/did have a change fee. If your reservation increased the dollar amount, no change fee, if it decreased, change fee. They do have cancellation penalties and the documents normally arrive 14 days prior to departure. Read the fine print carefully and call if you have questions.

We booked our December trip through them and it went off without a hitch. We had booked our previous June trip through WDTC, and it was exactly the same - I believe it is just "branded" Costco but administered by WDTC. I did Costco at Christmas because for the extra travel vouchers and the gift card. It worked great. Everything arrived about two or three weeks before. Again, it looked exactly as it did when I booked directly through Disney except I got the extras. I would highly recommend it if a travel package is what you want.

Thanks Mindy71! I'm thinking they would honor a sale too...what is the better meal to have at Goofy's, in your opinion, breakfast or dinner? Thanks! :goodvibes

Jack, I appreciate your information. It seems like they follow the Disney policies then, my niece had the same thing happen to her, she was told if she decreased the total of the pkg, they would pay a penalty, which I think they ended up doing. That's why I'm kind of waiting until we know for sure what we are doing when to book...which method do they send the docs, do you know? Fed Ex, UPS, etc.? Thanks!

NewbieMouse, thank you for your reply. I think you are right about that, they just add on their special deals to Disney's packages. That's part of the dilemma I'm having about using them, we may do a split visit like we've done in the past, but if I got a "buy 3 get 2 free" deal we'd have to buy it through them and they would probably want us buying all 5 of the hotel nights through them too...we do get emails now and then with savings codes from Disney. I'm considering splitting our stay like we did last time, with some of the nights outside the park, and maybe a couple inside...I'd love to try the DL hotel! :lovestruc

It has been FEDEX or DHL when they were in business. Signature required but they will call the day before delivery to insure someone is home.

We booked our trip for March through Costco. I have had to add/change a few things on our reservation and they have been very helpful each time I have called them.

We should be getting our documents towards the end of Feb/early March. So i will let you know if we have any problems!

Booking a Disney trip through Costco is the same was booking through WDTC, but with the added Costco perks. The change and cancellation fees are the same, in fact they transfer you to a WDTC agent if doing it over the phone. We booked the 5 for 3 promo with Costco in 2009, but it was already out when we booked. They send you your documents about 3 weeks in advance from WDTC.

Yes, once I called and they accidentally answered, "Good afternoon, Disney... OOPS... I mean Costco Travel, how may I help you?" :goodvibes

Hi everyone! I just found this thread again, and although I haven't booked our Disney portion yet, I'm planning on it real soon...most likely I will go through Costco, as long as they will honor any specials that come up down the road, and adjust the price accordingly. I've been thinking about trying the BWPPI, does anyone have experience with that hotel? We normally stay at the Fairfield, but the other one is much closer (right across the street!) we would have to go with one of the hotels that Costco uses of course, so we are somewhat limited. I'm getting so excited! I've already booked Amtrak to San Diego, that is the first thing we do the day we get there, we head to SD for 4 nights! ;) I'm thinking that when we do Disney, even if we book 5 nights/5 days park passes, we can just save one of the Disney passes and maybe go again right before we leave, (after our initial Disney visit we will be heading North for a few nights, then back to the Anaheim area) and maybe do Universal on one of the 5 days that we don't go to Disney...I'm so excited!!

I'm looking into booking with Costco for our March trip. Currently Disney has a buy 4 nights get the 5th night free and Costco is listing the same deal. With Costco you get the premium character meal included and a $20 gift card.

The problem is you pay full rack rate for the hotel. Even with 1 free night it may or may not be cheaper so you have to check what the best deal you can get for the hotel is booking through other means.

For the deal I am looking at it works out that the hotel would be $107 a night for 5 nights. I can get the same hotel for $80. The difference in price covers the cost of the premium meal. So the only realy advantage to Costco for us is the free lanyard pin sets and $20 gift card and Magic Morning.

Things to also note are the $200 cancellation fee if cancelled under 29 days out or the $50 change fee if changes cause a reduction in package price, again under 29 days.
