Costco Travel?

We are planning our trip for November 25 - December 5, and staying at the Best Western Anaheim Inn.

I went to Costco Travel and was quoted a price that was over $600 higher than if I just purchase the hotel / park hoppers ala carte. I understand that there is a character meal included in the Costco package, along with TTMM tickets. BUT. That seems like an incredible difference and I'm wondering what others' experience has been with Costco. I was all ready to book until I did the math and I just can't see any reason that I shouldn't book everything ala carte.

Opinions?

Sometimes packages are better, sometimes they are worse. As long as you are absolutely comparing apples to apples, there's no reason to go with the package. Choose the one that works best for you at the time!

I would bet that AAA and WDTC (through disneyland.com) are around the same rate that Costco is quoting...at least that has been my experience when I've priced packages.

So this time, going a la carte seems the better deal!

I didn't think that the Good Neighbor package deals were all that great. We got the same deal through Costco that we could have gotten straight through Disney, but we chose Costco because of the character meal benefit. It doesn't change the price of your package, it's a bonus.

Also remember that the package price includes tax. Doesn't account for all of the gap, but will account for some.

I actually made one mistake when doing my comparison, so the true difference (minus tax) is $407.50.

That's a good point regarding the tax - the tax is included on the hotel room per my calculations, but not the park hoppers. ARE the park hoppers taxed?

CA tickets aren't taxed, at least not yet. I guess there are rumblings of putting a tax on them, but it isn't happening at this time.

I'm booking via Costco travel as we speak for july8th-11th w/2 day hopper staying at DL Hotel, the package was exactly the same price as AAA but includes the breakfast
The package was around $100 more than alacarte, which diamond card & character breakfast made up for:)
make sure you remember to add taxes AND resort fee to Disneyland's a la carte prices to compare:)

I'm not sure what diamond card is...

I checked and it doesn't appear that the BWAI charges a resort fee.

The Diamond Card is a little paper card that has discount offers for some of the restaurants & stores around DLR. It was not great for us but we did use it at Rainforest and BuildaBear.

I booked my travel package with costco (leaving in 1 week)
and while checking today they definetly bump the prices I booked the fairfield Inn with a 5 for 3 park hopper and right now the same hotel with a 3 day park hoper is $296 more :confused3

So keep checking maybe they change the price when it gets closer? Good Luck!
