So my aunt wants to buy these 4 day PH passes for DH & I's anniversary trip next month. She lives in Newport Beach but we live in AZ. I thought I had read that you can use these if given as gifts? Anyone know for sure?

Also, do they come with a MM entry? And if not, will it be be big deal for the 2 of us not to have a MM? We will be there from Wed. May 11th to Sat. May 14th.:goodvibes Any advice you can give would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Jenn

I called and a CM told me that CA residents COULD purchase them as gifts, and the ID's would not be checked as you enter the park. The Costco passes do NOT include MM.

Have a great trip! :)

That's good to hear pinkprincess! I see you're going to DL soon also. Are you also planning on using the SoCal 4 day PH pass? Please report back and let me know or PM me on how it went!

Thanks so much for your info and have a magical trip!

We were given these Costco SoCal tickets as a gift and hubby and I were not SoCal residents. We called Disneyland to ask if we could use them and were told that SoCal residents were free to give them as gifts to whomever they pleased. We went to Disneyland in February and used them with no problem at all. Have fun! :goodvibes

Did you have to show some type of proof that they were purchased by a socal resident and then gifted to you??

No, we were never asked for ID or for proof that they were gifts. IMO, it would be impossible to present any kind of "proof" that they were a gift. Perhaps Costco is checking IDs at point of sale. I am sure that if you were asked and explained the situation, Disney would allow it since it seems standard policy to allow SoCal residents to purchase these tickets as gifts.

2 years ago I bought a some park hoppers off Ebay and they were for SoCal residents and were told the samething they just have to buy them and anyone can use them after that. I never had a problem using them for the 3 days.

I had considered these tickets and checked them out in detail, but ended up going a different direction, for other reasons.

If we purchase these tickets and are staying at the villas at GC, will we still be able to take advantage of Magic mornings even though the tix do not include MM?

Thanks,
CPC

Yes, if you are staying on site (villas or regular hotel), you get MM each day it is offered. Just use your room key! :)

Ok, so I just bought the tix online from costco and it went through with a NY address?????? It is shipping to my american address (we are in Canada) but we also have an American address. Costco website says that proof of residency is due upon redemption yet DL is saying that proof is at POS, clearly that isn't the case. :confused3

We used these passes in February and had them shipped to our home in Utah. Nobody asked for proof of residency. We were told that anyone could use them.

Would it be worth it to upgrade these to a 5-day when we get there? My DH loves the idea of getting the $50 gc, but I'm not sure how much it would cost us when we get there to upgrade.

I was hoping for a 5 for 3, but it doesn't look like it's happening. We will be in DL the first week of May.

Did you purchase them online yourself or did someone in SoCal do it for you and ship them to you? Still waiting from Costco to send me a confirmation email saying they are shipped.

TIA
Gina

It really does not work for you if you plan to get the 5 day PH. You will get credit for $151 for the Costco ticket and will need to pay an additional $100 to upgrade to an adult 5 day PH. If you buy the adult 5 day PH online, the cost is $211, so you save $38 by buying online over the buy Costco and upgrade route. -- Suzanne

Be aware also of the block out dates, as quoted from the costco website:
"Ticket is blocked out on 4/21/11 - 4/23/11, 7/1/11 - 7/4/11 and 8/21/11-8/22/11"

Also, it expires August 31, 2011.
I hope there is a deal like this when we go in October :goodvibes

For anyone who has bought and already used these tickets, are they a voucher that has to be redeemed or are they the actual ticket you would put in the turnstile?

Thanks,
CPC
