Costco packages for 2017?

My brother is planning a trip for early February 2017 and is inviting me (the single auntie) along to help wrangle the kids. We wanted to look at the Costco packages for comparison, but they're only booking out until December 31. Does anyone know when they would usually flip over to booking into 2017?

Right now I'm thinking we need to book the good deal we found at the Desert Inn (we'll have 3 adults and 4 kids, which means we need one of their two-room suites), which we can always cancel if the Costco packages end up being a better value.

No idea about Costco but I would definitely book DI&S right away! As you said, you can always cancel!

If you have stayed at the DI&S before, definitely call and ask about their returning guest rate, I managed to get a really good deal for our September trip.

We have stayed there before (in a parlor suite with me on the pull-out couch; I am insisting on an actual bed this time), so that's a great tip! Thanks, I will pass it on to my brother.

Returning rate? Never heard of that, will have to look into that for our next visit!!!

Both Desert Inn & Suites and Park Vue Inn have returning guest rates for certain, I called both and when I let them know I was a returning guest I was given a better rate! I'm sure other places along Harbor Blvd have them but those are the ones I know for sure.

I did find out today that the Costco price for a Universal Annual Pass is the same price as a one-day advance ticket, and it doesn't expire at the end of February like the Season Pass Universal offers does. Needless to say, I bought two for our trip. Now I just need to find a way to resist the urge to find cheap airfares for a fly-in/fly-out trip. ;)

Book DI& S. The further you're out the cheaper they are.

We never found Costco to be a cheaper deal.

LOL, that is what we are going to attempt. I have some miles need to use up so going to do a fly-in/fly-out trip on a day this October. First time trying that. Hope it goes well :). It will be our first trip to USH. Also going to surprise the kids the day of, when head to the airport.

We've booked through Costco travel in the past, and we've found the rates to be competitive. Also factor in the free character meal (we use those vouchers for other meals typically as they are worth more than a character meal in of itself). This works out well with a family of 5, and you have 5 vouchers. Also get a gift card, depending on number of nights stay.

I've been looking too, to see when they would come up on Costco's site for 2017. I've heard should have been last week, but looks like not to be the case :( I do want to do some comparison pricing for our (hopefully) upcoming trip next spring. I have reserved a room at the PVI, but rates seem a bit high. I am assuming high because in the spring break timeframe. Would be our first time at the PVI. Also considering HOJO or Homewood Suites Convention Center. We really like Homewood Suites, but never stayed at the new one, and it is further away than PVI/HOJO. With the upcoming construction for the new bridge on Harbor, will be interesting to see how things play out. Though expecting to still be able to use the crosswalk there until the bridge is ready (2018?).

I am still waiting on this too. I called in about two weeks ago and they were having technical issues. They thought it woiuld be fixed by last week but so far no luck.

We've got the DI&S booked. When my brother called and asked for the returning guest rate, they said that their internet rates were the best they had, so no additional discount. It's still a great deal (about $200/night for the C1 family suite).

We'll have to see what the Costco packages look like. Between the great rate at the DI&S and the discount on passes through the Last Minute Travel Club (found a coupon code for free membership-- 5-day park hopper is $281, although we haven't bought those yet either because they're also not available past Dec. 31 yet) I doubt it will be cheaper, but we'd like to compare anyway, especially since we're planning on an Ariel's Grotto meal (3 nieces who love princesses) and could use the character meal vouchers for that.
