Has any one ever booked the Costco Disneyworld Vacation Package?

This will be my first time and We will be going in October to also attend the Food & Wine Expo. Costco has a 5 night stay at the Sheraton Vistana Villages offering a one or two room suite with kitchen, washer, dryer and car rental. Has anybody ever stayed there or used this Costco package?

sheraton Vistana Villages is closer to SW than WDW.

now Sheraton Vistana Resort is much closer. Have stayed there loved it. but if you are driving and enjoying the wines and other drinks would try to stay on WDW property. Disney allows outside cities and counties access for the police - and they definitely use it. So expect several police cars to be around during the entire time of the food/wine.

on property you can take the WDW bus by and forth to your hotel.

There are tons of hotels that offer free shuttle service to the parks. Maybe call the hotel directly and ask before purchasing. I havent used Costco, but have used other agencies....AAA, Vacation Outlet etc... they are all fine. Costco is a huge company I would trust.

Hope you enjoy your vacation!

I used Costco to book packages at DLR but not for WDW. I had great experiences with them for DLR and would not hesitate to use them for WDW. As long as you know and understand their cancellation policy. And I guess make sure you can get all the info to input into MDE. Have fun!

Head over to the Orlando Hotels and Attractions Board and check out the threads on SVV and SVR. There is more information about the larger SVR resort, but SVV is no slouch. It was the first place we stayed when visiting Disney (through Air Canada Vacations many many year ago) and is a great option. Maybe 15-20 minutes by car to the parking lots of the Disney Parks, only 10 minutes to SW and 15 to Universal. You can't get a better location, and MUCH more luxurious accommodation than all but the most expensive Disney rooms. A suite the size of a 2BR at Vistana on Disney property is generally near $800/nt.

SVV sold us on staying off property and led us to eventually buy a Timeshare (resale) at the Sheraton Vistana Resort, but it was all based on our excellent experience at SVV. I can understand why Costco is offering stays at this excellent property; it matches perfectly with their best bang for the buck market.

To echo Spiceycat's point though, policing in Orlando (actually pretty much everywhere I go in the US) is much more visible than here in Canada (except maybe Montreal). DUI is not tolerated, so be sure to be careful with consumption or take the shuttle. SVV offers shuttle to the parks, probably free under the Costco package; they do charge $9/pp for timeshare owner stays, but I wager that Costco has made sure that the park shuttle is free for their bookings (read the fine print).

You can't do much better than this, especially if the price is right!

We used Costco for our Universal trip. We stayed at Visitana Villages and enjoyed our trip. We ate a couple of meals at Disney and found that it was not that complicated to get there. The resort is nice, but quiet. We enjoyed our lovely view from our screened in porch. We stayed in the 2 bedroom. It was very large. My only complaint was that the bathrooms really needed a update.

FYI,We did not get any pressure for a timeshare sell which was nice.

Thanks for the info everyone. We ended up booking with Costco and will be staying at SVV. It includes roundtrip air fare for 2, a one bedroom "timeshare" suite for 6 nights, 2 WDW 5-day tickets with park hopper and 2 4-day Park to Park Universal tickets. We added on one extra day for the room (7 nights total) and dropped vehicle rental and will be using Uber and Lyft to get around because of the Food and Wine Festival. Uber offers a $30 dollar credit off your first ride so we will both be signing up individually and using those 2 credits to go to and from the airport.

I will post a trip report when we get back. Thanks again.

Question! Are the theme park tickets sent ahead of time? We are splitting a stay between on property and off and our off time falls after our WDW time. We will need the theme park tickets before we check into the package hotel. Thanks in advance! :lovestruc

My parents booked a wdw travel package from Costco 2 years ago and I remember them receiving their park tickets way in advance. I don't really recall what the timeframe was but I hope this sort of helps.

We are due to leave on Sunday for this package. Our information from Costco tells us to pick up the tickets from Will Call.

Oh boy! If that's the case then we may be in trouble! We need the tickets before the hotel stay. Hmmm. May need to look at plan B!

I don't think the hotel stay should have anything to do with it. The email from Costco has a specific page to use at Will Call with the Disney Ticket numbers. It doesn't say anything about needing to check in first - you just take the print out to the ticket window at Disney and they give you the tickets.

Tickets may be picked up at one of the following WALT DISNEY WORLD® theme park ticket window locations:

• Epcot®
• Disney's Hollywood Studios®
• Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park
• Ticket and Transportation Center at Magic Kingdom® Park
• Guest Relations at Downtown Disney® Marketplace and Westside

At the time of pick up, the lead passenger must present government issued photo ID (e.g. driver’s license, passport, etc.) and this Will Call Certificate.

Thanks for the info! This is the first year in 10 years that I don't have an AP and the other person in my party needed tickets as well so the best deal was the package.

.

what is the estimated cost on Uber from the airport to disney?

Uber cannot pick up at the airport.

A taxi is roughly $50 - $60.

Uber CAN take you back to the airport, though. They just cannot do pickups there!

Yes now Uber Black can do pickups. It's probably more expensive than a taxi though - you'd have to do a fare check.
