No offense, but wouldn't it be easier just to call Costco and ask them? I could understand wanting another opinion if the question was whether the cookies were tasty, but a count is pretty straight forward.
And thanks for the advice Sheila. I agree a phone call would be easier, but I was in an environment where I could not speak out loud (hospital with a sleeping patient). I did search the internet for the information, but didn't find anything. Since it seems many posters on this board go to Costco, I was trying to obtain the information so I could continue planning a party for work while not disturbing my dying mother with the sound of my voice. I should have known better....
I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom. I'm probably wrong, it's probably more, I just can't remember and it's been a long time since I bought them. I used to buy them all the time for my last job but we don't do that for this job. lol
To be honest I dont really think there is a way to call Costco bakery and reach anyone. I have tried before and remember not being able to talk to anyone
We bought the cookie trays a few years ago as a gift to the post office workers for all our ebay packages we would bring in. Didnt get any complaints but sorry I cant remember how many there were. It was good sized
When I Googled Costco cookie tray, the second result showed 70 cookies. Granted, this was the business delivery site - but if the requester can't use a voice to inquire, there's no reason to think the retail version would be any different.

I did stop by Costco last night and there is a "new" version of the large cookie platter with holiday cookies. It is a count of 70, however, the cookies are much smaller and more "gourmet," for lack of a better word, but it will work. I can always make my own cookie platters if we go with the standard chocolate chip/oatmeal raisin. Just looking for easy right now.....
If you have the time to make your own you can always get the gourmet cookie tray and then buy premade dough for the other cookies, chocolate chip, sugar, oatmeal raisin, these are all available in premade tubs. Just a thought.

It seems like a waste of time to use already made dough rather than just buy the cookies already made. JMO, but heating up purchased dough isn't exactly "making your own."

Ok, but did you read what I said and the OP's reply before mine? She said the Costco trays were 70 cookies but they are more "gourmet" and she was considering adding more standard varieties like oatmeal and chocolate chip, hence my suggestion of using premade dough to make it faster for her to add oatmeal, chocolate chip and sugar cookies. It doesn't appear that you did. "Heating up purchased dough" is still "making them yourself", you're just not making the dough itself, splitting hairs methinks.
It isn't a "waste of time" if she can't get them on an already prepared tray.
You could check with meijer bakery or local store chain also. I know meijer bakes cookies in house and will take orders than you just have to put on tray.
