As long as you don't have a placeholder, this is definitely the way to go. And even if you do, if it is a cruise that will sell out (e.g., Hawaii), you should book it yourself online and transfer it to Costco as it's better to have a reservation on the Hawaii cruise without the 10% OBB than to have no reservation at all!Book the cruise yourself online and then call Costco to transfer to them. That is what I did last opening day. The process is very easy and simple to move the cruise to them.
That's what I thought too. I called yesterday and she said 8 am eastern, so I have my alarm set for 6 am (Alberta)...I thought Costco was opening at 8am. Maybe that's only in Canada?
@FigmentSpark I called this morning at 8:00 a.m. ET and Costco was not open. The recording said they opened at 7:00 a.m. Pacific, which is when I called back. That's what I thought too. I called yesterday and she said 8 am eastern, so I have my alarm set for 6 am (Alberta)...
ajo are you in the US or Canada? Thanks for your help with the quotes BTW!!@FigmentSpark I called this morning at 8:00 a.m. ET and Costco was not open. The recording said they opened at 7:00 a.m. Pacific, which is when I called back.
Just to clarify... placeholders must be booked over the phone - so that isn't unique to Costco. If you have a placeholder and assigned it to a "dummy cruise" then you might be been able to modify it online yourself. Sometimes I've been able to modify dates, other times it doesn't work and I've had to call.I will never book another placeholder and assign it to Costco. I could have done this myself at DCL online open this morning and most likely had my preferred cabin.
I'm in Canada. I guess they are different, although I was told that the Canadian TAs just use the Seattle office for booking DCL anyway, so I don't know why they are different.ajo are you in the US or Canada? Thanks for your help with the quotes BTW!!
