costco 4 days play for southern california

I would like to know if I can buy this ticket for my sister and her husband. they're out of state. but I live in orange county. Costco site does not saying anything at the gate.
I'll order from costco, I'll redeem the ticket at the ticket booth. but my question is If i give them the ticket, can they go in at the gate?

First person I spoke to (main phone number) said... sure you buy it at Costco and it's good to go... well I wasn't sure about it since we used to live in West LA and knew of So. Cal discounts but also that some are "carded". Then got further to ask at Guest Services since I had some questions about using WDW hopper tickets at DL . Told "no problem" for each days' hopper (which I wanted to hear) , original person I asked told me that I'd have to have the remaining days converted (didn't seem right) and they'd take the actual pro-rated $ of what I spent to be applied... well WRONG (which is good) can use on a day to day basis. But then asked about Costco ticket and was told that there was a good 90% chance that I'd be asked for ID (well I've got an expired CA license but I wouldn't have used it) -- wouldn't want the embarrassment. SO for us we'll probably use the So Cal City Pass tickets that you order from Costco (at about a $40savings) and use the 3 day hopper part for DL or just use up old tickets from WDW -- of which we're sitting on about $700 worth.
Just double check about this from someone at GS or be prepared to give sister the tickets to be used "just in case".

I have purchased the Costco tickets for myself and they clearly state on the ticket they are for SoCal residents only. I was asked to show my drivers license when I converted them at the ticket booth. Now, they do put your name on the ticket (only one person is supposed to use the ticket), so I cannot be 100% certain they were also checking for residence requirement, but my guess is they were.
