Trying to decide between this trip or the DL trip. One big question our daughter will be 7 when we would do this - probably in June. Turning 8 in November. The zipline says you have to be 8 to go. Are they strict about this? I'm not one to bend rules, but if they don't care I would let her go. But there is no way we could go all this way and tell her she can't do one of the big highlights of the trip - you know?

We are going to wait until 2009 to go simply for that reason. My daughter won't be 8 until next November so I couldn't imagine taking her to Costa Rica and not allowing her to do the zip line.

I do not know Disney's stance on this, but I imagine it is an insurance issue that has no gray area. I would bet that they won't budge on this because if God forbid something were to happen and she was under the required age, it would be bad news for them.

I've searched everywhere to try to find the blog where it talked about kids and the zip line and Costa Rica. Can't find it again, but from what I recall the woman had taken her kids on the Costa Rica ABD and her youngest was 6 or 7 and couldn't ride the zip line. However, there was a lower zip line that the little girl was able to ride, just not the high long one. You might inquire with the ABD people and see if they do provide an alternative for the under 8 set. Wish I could be more helpful.

Thanks for all the info. We may just do the DL trip this year which is only a 5-day so that way we can see how much we enjoy it and if they offer the Costa Rica trip for 2009 we will do it then.
