Looking for assistance please. I know I can bridge a 7 day PH ticket to an annual pass. I know that sometimes there is confusion with cast members about doing it and the cost involved. Is my math correct?

7 D PH adult costs 516.53 and AP 829.64. So the cost to upgrade is 313.11, correct?
7 D PH child costs 495.23...so the cost is 334.41?

Also, I believe our first day will be either MK or HS. Is it better to do this at the ticket window or can I do it at guest services inside the park?

I've also heard both that I have to first use the tickets and that it doesn't matter - can do this before enter park for the first time...does it matter?

Thanks so much for the assistance

IF YOU ARE TRYING TO UPGRADE NEW TICKETS PURCHASED FROM STOCK ISSUED AFTER FEB. 12, 2017:
1. There is NO "bridging" involved in what you want to do.
What you are asking about is a straight, simple "upgrade."
2. There can sometimes be confusion, but, again, in THIS case, there is NO "bridging" involved,
so there should be little, if any confusion.
a1. Yes.
a2. If you are wanting the Disney Platinum Pass, correct.
b. Correct.
c. Yes.
d. If you are wanting the Disney Platinum Pass, correct.
g. Nope.
h. Doesn't matter.
i. If you like.
j. Doesn't matter.
-------------

IF YOU ARE TRYING TO UPGRADE TICKETS PURCHASED FROM STOCK ISSUED BEFORE FEB. 12, 2017:

That will be an entirely different scenario and price structure.

I purchased from Under cover tourist...leftover tickets but after increase went into effect (wednesday purchase after sunday increase). So No, tickets prior to BEFORE 2/12/17...

If you purchased "leftover" UT tickets, that means they were Issued to UT prior to 2/12/17 and @Robo's description below applies to you:

Yes.
In the case of trying to upgrade "leftover tickets," then "price bridging" WILL be involved.
But it will not be the numbers which you asked about.
"Leftover" tickets will only be bridged up to the price that WDW charged the public PRIOR TO Feb. 12, 2017.
Those prices can be found HERE.

So,
a 7-Day ADULT Park Hopper would be "worth" $467.54.
a 7-Day CHILD Park Hopper would be "worth" $446.24.

Subtract those prices, respectively, from the CURRENT cost of a new Disney Platinum Pass: $829.64.

And, those difference prices, respectively, would be the amount you'd pay to upgrade to the new AP's.

Thank you so much for the answers. I really really appreciate the details and help. Definitely getting APs and just want to make sure paying the right amount.

Thanks again

Another question that maybe you'll know the answer to. I have an extra adult prior to 2/2017, 7 day PH. Will Disney let me upgrade that to an AP (since same price) for my 3 year old or let me upgrade his child 7 day PH?

I would love if I could keep that for a trip further down the road....

You can use either ticket to upgrade to an AP. It's the "value" of the ticket that will applied.

Sorry I'm confused about the steps since UC tickets. I realize I sound sort of crazy here. There are 2 adults and a 3 year old in the family and all of us need AP.

I have to go to a ticket window prior to entering park since need to pick up UCT tickets for family (already linked to MDE). I give them email/pdf with ticket number/reservation info. I can then also upgrade to AP right then?

Will Disney let my 3 year old use an adult 7 dph to enter the park? I assume they don't care but that could be a big assumption.

To confuse the issue I have 5 tickets.
1 purchased an AP in 2015
2 3-9, 7 day ph in 2015.
3 3-9, 7 day ph from UCT from old ticket stock right after the price increase this year
4 adult 7 day ph from UCT from old ticket stock right after the price increase this year.
5 adult 7 day ph from UCT from old ticket stock right after the price increase this year

Trying to figure out the most cost efficient ways to upgrade to AP. Obviously I paid less for the 2015 tickets but outside the AP, the other tickets will all have the same value going forward so maybe I just answered my own question. But if I can use an adult for DS, then I can save the 3-9 tickets for trips when we don't have an AP.

Also, to get resort AP rates I linked the unused AP to MDE. I also have a 7 day PH linked. Will disney let me upgrade PH to an AP when there is already one there? I want to save one for a later trip and will save at least a little money by upgrading that one now v. a year/years down the rode now that the prices are "set."

Sorry for thinking aloud and for the craziness. Hope you guys can follow this...

1a. You won't need to actually "pick up" a physical ticket in order to do the upgrade
because you can do the upgrade immediately.
1b. Yes.
1c. Yes.
2. You do not need to enter at park before upgrading the tickets.
Upgrade, THEN enter the park.
3. You do not need to have any AP linked to MDE in advance of your trip in order to book an AP rate room.
4. Yes.
5. If you don't intend to USE the AP when you upgrade, you want to ask to upgrade to an AP CERTIFICATE.

You need to do the math on each ticket to determine which tickets you want to upgrade or hold for the future.

Thanks for the answer yet again. The math will be easy since all the tickets are pre 2/2017.

The pricing for all the tickets will be easy to figure out since they are all pre 2/2017. The logistics is another matter.

I already linked the AP. On another thread it said AP sometimes get emails to sign up for soft openings and in case they do soft openings at AK while we are there I would like access, if possible. I also have the 7 day ph linked since I initially added that to make FPs. My son also has both tickets linked to him since UCT voucher had both tickets listed and MDE did not let me only take the adult ticket. Not happy about that.

I know I have to make certain the top ticket is the listed as a priority from a usage standpoint. I hope will call can do that for my son.

Sounds like I should be able to do all this at the window at MK. I will make certain to ask for a AP certificate. That's huge! Just need to decided whether to use child or adult PH for my son and make sure ticket priorities set. The agent will LOVE me.

I cannot thank you enough Robo!

You don't need to go to the "Will Call" window.
Go to a ticket booth or Guest Relations. (Yes, those can both handle 3rd party tickets.)

Day one will be MK so to the ticket booth prior to entering the park....otherwise probably quicker if GS inside park - although then 2 lines. One to deal with the UCT issue and another to upgrade
